I don´t think that you can compare the course where Rhonex set his 10km PB with the hilly course where Jakob ran in the weekend.

Rhonex´s PB was run in Praha on a rather flat course (similar to Copenhagen Half or Berlin Marathon I believe).

I think that Jakob would be a threat to Rhonex at a 10.000m on the track already now but he will be substantially better as he matures.

Are you aware that Rhonex and Jakob have met in the 5000m? DL London in July 2019 where Jakob beat Rhonex easily. You don´t need to watch more than the last 800m!

AND second in the 1500m U20 WC when 17. Only beaten by some suspecious Kenyan "boys".

Bekele ran PB in 5000m 13.20.57 when 18; Jakob ran PB in 5000m 13.02 when 18.

Of course Bekeles later career was fantastic but you must agree that Jakobs achievements at 18 were much better than Bekeles were?

So is it not realistic to consider him the NEXT goat if he matures in the same way as Bekele (and El Guerrouj and many other former and current top runners)?

while I agree that JI is great and will be the best distance runner the coming decade (once we cleaned up the Kenyan doping problem), but to be fair to Rolex, he had an off-shell day that day.

Why do you think that RHONEX (not ROLEX) had a "an off-shell day" in DL London. He just didn´t have the same finishing speed as Jakob. Nobody else had except for Gebrhiwet.

But I think that both Rhonex and Jakob could have faster in DL london if the pacemakers hadn´t run substantially slower than they were scheduled to.

I think he can break these times next year if he stayes healthy and if he joins some fast races in the 1500m and 5000m.

It could be in some of the last DL runs after the Olympics.

I don´t think Jakob realised his potential neither in the 1500m nor the 5000m in 2019 and in 2020 his aerobic foundation will be even higher and his physical strenght improved too.

If he matures like Bekele and Hicham ? lol...do you know how many phenom never mature to that world dominating level? Easily 98-99%. Jakob is a tremendous talent but he also putting in the workload which makes his ceiling alot lower then someone of slightly slower times but also not as consistently high mileage and advanced training at his age.

Jakob could continue to develop at level to become a WR holder but condidering the high mileage and training he been doing for years it's not highly probably. He could certainly develop into a 3:28.25, 12:48.75, and 26:45.00 but don't hand him next GOAT ass MANY faster phenom never achieved GOAT status.

No it's not realistic to think he WILL (rather than slightly could) become G.O.A.T considering his high mileage and advanced training makes h8s ceiling alot lower then s was atcthexsame age.

Regarding Bekele and Kipchoge dreaming about getting top 5. Kipchoge had a World 5000m title along with the championship record at age 19 and they have so many medals thats just a dumb comment to say. Even if youre referring to success at a young age.

Also, it's not the world XC title you're talking about, it's the junior title. Hahaha. You, and everyone else knows that there is no way Jakob was in anywhere near top form in the winter when this takes place, and you, as everyone else knows that course, with its steep ups and downs and extremely tight turns is not even close to being suited for someone the size of Jakob. That's why a tiny 5 foot 105 pound skeleton won it.

Finally...Jakob is just starting. We can tell you're upset that he's doing so well already. It's ok. Just enjoy it.
