Is she in the grey area (or beyond it)? That I don't know, but some thyroid medications appear to improve lactate metabolism by increasing expression of monocarboxylate transport proteins. Ergo, it's liable to be competitive advantage to be on something like triiodothyronine. If Jenny is on thyroid meds, even if she needs them to be "normal," she might very well be in that grey zone.

She ran 3:58 at 33 years old. She is probably pretty satisfied with her result considering the next oldest runner in the final was 29 (and the main runners were 22-26). She has had an amazing career and this season was one of her most impressive considering her age.

So she should have levelled public accusations against Salazar before he incurred a doping violation? Rumours were sufficient to call him out? There are plenty here who don't accept he's done anything wrong, despite the violation, so I can't see that anyone in her position is going to escape flak for expressing their view about that.

Agree. Jenny's fantastic and the best middle distance competitor from the US over the last 15 years. If she was better looking, she'd be much more popular on letsrun and treated with the respect she deserves. The comments board here is infested with pathetic creeps.

They weren't rumors. All of the information that "came out" after the ban was already publicly available and has been for several years. Maybe it was news to you, but most of us have known for quite a while that Salazar is shady. This was nothing more than Simpson trying to stay relevant. So you make no distinction between a confirmed violation and rumours of being "shady" when it comes to making public comment? No line for you there? And the comment would then be what? X is "shady"? Supported by what? I can easily gauge the response if a well-known athlete was to make a public comment in that situation. Even when there is a violation it is been proven controversial for an athlete like Simpson (or Willis) to say anything about that.
