She and Little, just like Kerley, were fed up with the attention being paid to the new kid on the block by the one track mind media. They went out like crazy and that with the weather set up a perfect scenario.

Don't you think the track guy guided her off-track toward the infield to go take a photo by the time on the big clock? That's traditional for records, especially world records.

What a low class athlete. I will never root for Dalilah Muhammad again.
I can't believe there isn't a lengthy separate thread regarding what occurred during the post race interview. I knew NBC would ignore it but I assumed the sharp posters here would be all over it. In all my decades of following this sport I have never seen anyone make such a low class move immediately following such a triumphant race.
Sydney McLaughlin made a very sincere comment to Lewis Johnson that, "I am so happy for her," regarding Muhammad's world record. That is very representative of Sydney's personality, for anyone who has followed her. She wants the event to advance and for someone to push and challenge her.
However, the American female hurdlers are a bitter jealous vindictive collection of bitches. This has been obvious for more than a decade. If you are not among the preferred clique then they want no part of you. Lolo Jones was the first target for the 100 crew. Now at least some of the 400 group have turned their jealous venom on Sydney McLaughlin. I sensed that was already present -- and would only grow -- but I never dreamed one of them would unleash it during a live interview on NBC.
Watch it closely. After Sydney makes the comment about, "...so happy for her," along with saying something about the same group from Rio returning to Doha, Lewis Johnson starts to briefly interview the third place finisher. However, Dalilah Muhammad obviously took immediate offense at Sydney's "so happy for her" remark, and made some type of dismissive comment to Sydney, while the interview was still underway. Sydney was shocked and said to Dalilah, "I AM so happy for you."
Dalilah followed with another smart ass comment or gesture to Sydney. That is obvious because just as the interview is concluding, Sydney says, "Oh my god," as if she can't believe how Dalilah is responding, that somehow she turned a world record into reason to launch jealous bitchery.
After the races and quick interview the 3 qualifiers always huddle and celebrate together. Following Muhammad's disgraceful display I knew there was no chance that would happen here. Sure enough, she departed away from the crowd -- and glanced back at Sydney -- while Sydney and third place finisher Ashley Spencer heading in the opposite direction...smack toward the crowd.
Guaranteed that NBC picked all of this up and knew what transpired. I was hoping they would have enough guts to comment, or even ask Lewis Johnson on air if he heard the exchange. Nope. Zilch. They want to wish it away into the cornfield.
Yeah...lots of luck.
Even prior to Muhammad's low class comment you could already tell she was obsessed with McLaughlin and all the positive attention she receives. During the interview with Lewis Johnson. Muhammad said "all the distractions" and during those words intentionally shifted her eyebrows to her right, where Sydney was standing.
I guarantee Sydney had no idea what was going on, or what would follow. She's only been on the one international team and seemed genuinely happy that it would be the same familiar group again.
I saw the incident in real time because I was looking for that type of thing. I am well aware of the low class nature of some of the American female hurdlers. They are first to praise God and first to find the gutter. It is such pathetic contrast to all the events in which the track and field competitors have genuine admiration, respect and support for each other, like decathlon, pole vault and steeplechase.
Dooger, So you were unable to actually quote Ms. Mohammed, but you've been able to infer her attitude and animosity from her and Ms. McLaughlin's facial expressions? You're reaching a bit too far here. We're not falling for it. Good luck somewhere else.
Wow, I don’t know how I missed that the first time - terrible!!!

What you accept has already been pretty thoroughly debunked.

Of course. Doping is always vehemently denied.

Muhammad had an incredible finish off the last curve, just blowing the others away in steps and then held form sufficiently down the stretch to get the world record. That was a statement all right. McLaughlin ran a great race and yet was almost .7 s away, and Muhammad actually ran more than a second faster than she had all season. You think that a rainy track won't make for a great 400m H but this was the second one in recent memory to go very, very fast, after Rai Benjamin's 2018 NCAA victory in 47.02 in rainy Eugene.
There is a theory that a wet track is a fast track.
Probably due to the drop in temperature when it rains causing the air density to increase thus more oxygen.

With a performance like that you have to wonder if drugs are involved. It is not like she has been close to the record ever before.
happy, OP? Now this is officially an LRC world record thread.
if it were not about an American, it would not have gone a whole page without this coming up.
She has ran within a few tenths before, but this year was consistently in the 53 mid to 54 low range, and McLaughlin even slower. Considering both were likely to make the WC team anyhow, it should indeed be a surprise to see both of them blow the doors off this event.
+1, Exactly. On a wet track. Remember us folks that speak English, don't do drugs. Only dirty foreigners.

Was the former WR holder actually caught doping, or do you just hate Russia to the point where you think Americans aren't dopers unless they beat Russians?
Top American sprinters are the most suspect of all, by far. They're the most competitive market with the highest stakes, thus logically the hardest to win without doping. As BALCO proved, they're generally ahead of the testing curve too. The 1988 coverup showed they're institutionally protected.
The NCAA still doesn't do midnight tests. US sprinters have a free pass to microdose every evening with zero risk, until they're out of college and officially "pro" and subject to real scrutiny. It's as corrupt as ever. The number of new men's sprinters going ~9.80 is a huge red flag all by itself.
The over/under for these ladies at worlds, off of US turf, is probably 53 high.
What about that Norman chap? Runs 43.4 in a nothing meet in the middle of nowhere then goes to Europe and is way slower. Doesn't make any sense.
The event is the 400-meter hurdles, not the discus.

Yes Felix ran a 52.20 for 4th in the prelims
Hm country with an avtive serial doping coach in sprinting has another wr. Nothing suspicious to see here
Dooger where's the video of the interview? One reason for Muhummad WR is she imoroved her 400m flat soeed from 52.63 to 50.61 this year. More interesting is,Sydney apoarently underestimated Muhummad and was closing on her the last 50m.
We could very well she a female run sub 52 in the 400m hurdles this year!

You really took a lot of time out of your day to write all of that you clown!! Or should I say B**CH! Because clearly from the emotions in this message you are a male or should I say B**CH!!! How did you analyze all of that from that post interview. I’ve watched that interview many times and didn’t see what you saw but clearly you want to see some other stuff! How is it that you been following track for years and came to this conclusion???? Have you seen any of the diamond pre interviews?? Clearly not because you would see and know that there’s no tension or ill will between these females. They are competitors and want to be the best!!! So sit your lazy butt down somewhere and continue live your miserable life wishing you had the talent and ability of these athletes!! CLOWN!!!
Dooger
I will be the first to apologize about the Muhummad and McLaughlin controversy. McLaughlin and her coach underestimated Muhummad as Im sure they thought sub 53 would win. Muhummad angry went out like a bat out of h*** and caught McLaughlin sleeping. The youngster still was the first to congratulate the new WR holder who gave Sydney rwo pars on tge back as they hugged. Soencee got a long real emotional hug.
Interview:
What distraction is Muhummad soeaking of? Olympic Champion why did you have to orove yourself again?
Sydney ckearly said as the microphone goes to Spencer, "I am happy for you, oh my God" as Dooger stated previoysly.
I hope they reconcile or Dialliah stop hating Sydney getting all the press and $. I like both of them as athletes but Muhummad was classless and ghetto during that interview.
Haze
I dont know Dooger to take up for him but click on the link on Letsrun page about Video of 400h WR and its so clear what Sydney is saying as the microphone is going to Ashley Spencer. I like Dialliah but she clwarly have a problem with Sydney and the video proves it Sir.

The video doesn't prove anything. I don't think anyone can read that video and say they definitely have a problem with each other.
"Oh my god" can be said endearing. I watched the video and didn't see anything sinister.
Then you not looking with clise enough Rojo. Right before Sydney said "OMG."..you can read her lips saying, "I am happy for YOU" then she said, "OMG".
First Sydney said during her interview,.... about the team being the same etc, then said "I'm so happy for her". Microphone going to Ashley Spencer, (Sydney looks at Dialliah and clearly said, "I am happy for YOU" Dialliah say something off camera and Sydney immediately says, "OMG".
I actually wanted Dialliah to beat Sydney but didnt think she would...I like both athletes so I gain nothing by reviewing and agreeing with Awsi Dooper.
