What's the cringiest thing you hear runners say or have heard a runner say? (about running)

Before the start of a marathon, hearing a 50-Stater marathon-completer-- in full regalia, of course-- holding court. Basically talking to no one in particular, but hoping to grab attention.

He was offering first timers advice, extras of his energy bars (yes, he wore a pack), telling about all the marathons he'd done, etc.

If I collapse at the finish line it means I gave everything I could, so when my time or place arent as good as the coach wanted I won't get in trouble. Girl Logic.

I didn't think this was cringey but it was certainly ignorant. Sellers would obviously have the potential to be a faster runner if she wasn't obligated to stand up all day for her job. Your running career will not last long, you can always go back to being a nurse when it's over.

Sure, give up making 6 figures and take years out of your professional career, to maybe make $10k-20k/Year as a mediocre marathon runner who had a one-off race on a freak year. Great plan. At least she'd be able to catch up on the latest Orange is the New Black.

I saw/heard a well-known former University of Oregon runner pounding the equipment shed and screaming "Why? Why? Why?" in a voice loud enough to be heard from across the track after losing a meaningless all-comers meet 1500m.

People pooling around the finish line of a road 5K comparing Garmin measurements and complaining that the course was long by 0.0x miles, which is why they didn't PR or something like that. Gets even better when they go raid the race director with their foil blankets and fuel belts to tear them a new one.

First, why are you genuinely angry about this, and second, don't you realize you probably didn't run the shortest route?

Objectively I find this the cringeist, because when I think of cringe I see myself in their shoes and feel the second-hand embarrassment. Nothing in this thread has sparked that for me until I read this. I can just imagine me having an off day, hell an offseason and screwing up at an all-comers meet and having a lapse in judgment.
