Africans won three straight Olympics in the 60s. They were "in the game" long before 1975.

Levins never did a marathon nor attempted marathon training under Salazar.

Farah's marathon in London in 2014 was only for appearance. It was well known that he didn't do much marathon specific training during that build up because he was going back to the track. He trains solely for the marathon full time now.

He probably couldn't run fast track times but this bruh was preparing for a marathon little did he knew. I see great things from him in the future. He's starting out faster than Rupp did.

If you think that Ethiopian and Kenyan athletes were involved with time-trial marathoning in 1975, to an extent remotely comparable to the present day, you are completely ignorant of the sport. Go to bed.

To say "Drayton was only one minute of the WR, Levins is off by eight minutes" shows no awareness of the fact that the "WR chase" back then, such that it was, was basically the Special Olympics (TINY involvement of African runners in the sport). Big whoop, Drayton came within a minute of some other caucasian who barely did anything else. Levins is running in something called "the modern era."

You are correct, Zane has not gone under 2:10. I didn't bother to look up his stats, only remembering his sub 60 half (another time that Americans don't often run).

You really care a lot about my including the Robertsons. How about if I say that Americans other than Rupp aren't anywhere near 2:10 and that is frustrating. Do you disagree with that?

American Khalid Khannouchi debuted with 2:07:10 at Chicago Marathon in 1997.

Alan Culpepper (USA) also went 2:09:41

Levins made more money than the winner of the race? 40K+6K =46K for a non podium finish in a non major race. If the Canadian record wasn't ancient and set by a former superstar marathoner. This wouldn't be front page news at all.
