Bike riding coach on track - who's more to blame

Sprinters only run a very small percentage of the time.

The rest of the time they're either walking around on the track, laying down or sitting down on the track.

If anyone other than cyclists should not be on the track, it's the sprinters.

The cyclist 100 percent ran into the feet of the walker and caused him to fall.

Without the cyclist having run into the walker, there would have been no collision.

This is clear in the video.

As i see it: the walkers were not following recommendations for how to properly use the track. They are partially at fault but had a right to be there.

The sprinters should have not been tailing the cyclist if doing so would obscure their vision of what's ahead and otherwise help create a potentially dangerous situation (like the one that occurred).

The cyclist, however, never should have been there in the first place. His is the most egregious transgression in that the others were allowed there and merely weren't following safe protocols, but the cyclist was in violation by his very presence.

In the greater scheme of things, accidents happen even when people are mostly following the rules. The fact that the biker contributed to this one puts him most to blame, in my opinion.

So you advocate running over jaywalkers?

Students on the track during PE class belong where ever they need to be. It’s their class and their track.

The cycling coach and his runners were trespassing on school property during school hours without permission and should be arrested and fined. The coach should be charged with reckless endangerment causing bodily injury. If convicted or plea bargain he should spend two weeks in jail. Be required to perform 200 hours of community service and pay for the injured students medical bills.
