I love that when this thread was originally posted, it was a pie in the sky prediction.
7 years later, and it would appear to be a prophecy of Nuguse's demise, if you didn't know the date of the original post.
At peak boredom on slow days in the office, sometimes I'll search a prominent runner on the boards and sort by oldest to see the first mention. It's always funny to see the first mention of someone knowing they'll end up being a world beater. Jakob has some fun old threads mentioning his age group exploits and people noticing him in results saying "is that Henrik's brother?" Hocker didn't seem to have much hype on the boards until he won Footlocker in 2018 (and finished 2nd at NXN before that). Nuguse is a great one because I doubt anyone outside of those who knew him personally were aware what a talent he was. 2019 was really when I became aware of him and he capped it off winning NCAAs over Ollie Hoare ( and a few other guys who aren't as notable anymore). Crazy to think they'd eventually both be teammates and have sub 3:30 1500 PBs!
We were really robbed of a great pro track runner. ches ran 3:49 indoors before super spikes. I wish we had grand slam back then. Then nationalities wouldn't have even mattered.
