Steeplechase is null and void for comparison as the barriers are lower for the women making it essentially a very different event (no logical reason why but that is the way it is).

Taking into account the drug factor is also a bit difficult unless you believe that PEDs do not work.

For “any man”, the OP sure does include a lot of qualifiers.

How about this: “most healthy men, with training, can beat any record-holding woman over SOME distance.” (Meaning I could beat a sprinter in a marathon or a marathoner in a sprint, even at 6’4 210.)

Gebrselassie did run an 800m in 1:49.35. But even if he hadn't, his 3:31.76 1500m may have included a fast enough 800m.

The real stumbling block is that none of these men have run the women's steeplechase (different barrier heights).

Of course, all the non-qualifiers could have trained harder / smarter. Whether that would have been enough to qualify is another question, but you'll never know until they really try it.

Probably a couple of dozen guys could do it as after you got past the first 10km, they would end up slowing to a pace that is slower than their normal marathon pace.

I think you have to give a pass to the SC because any man that can run sub 806 for the 3000 and sub 14:10 for 5000 could break the SC record at women's hurdle heights.

Jarmila Kratochvilova, drugged-up Czech runner from the 1980s ran 1:53.

What would be the best way to train to hit all these times in as short amount of time as possible. My guess would be to train for the 10k, because if you can run that one, you could also run the 5k and the half marathon. Then, you could take one season to work on speed and hit the 800/1500 and women's steeple (1 practice workout over the girls hurdles is enough).

Then, you start training up again for the marathon.

The only tough one would be the marathon. Seriously think about what any 13:00 5k runner does. 1:53 is close to mile pace, 1500 is like 5k pace and 10k pace is close to marathon pace. And the marathon is only tough cause thats a lot of time for things to go wrong

The best coaching and full time training would have little impact on the total numbers who could do this. More guys from the 70s were probably capable because guys actually raced multiple distances back then.
