OK, then why are you spending all of this effort deflecting from the subject and trying to point at other people?

Alabama is being singled out because there is a senate seat up for grabs in Alabama and that is a national issue in the present moment.

A US senator makes laws that all Americans have to follow and we are concerned that this potential scumbag could be writing laws for all of us.

For some reason you want to approach this subject by talking about local political races and even non political figures of past eras.

The folks who are doing this are trying to do at least two things:

1. Get us talking about other people, thus deflecting the conversation from Moore--but the conversation is about electing a senator from Alabama; and

2. Justify the potential bad acts of a candidate for that Senate seat by saying, "See? Other people have done bad things too!"--which excuses nothing on the part of a potential bad actor who's running for the seat that we're talking about.

And I *still* say that this whole discussion of did-he-or-didn't-he only helps Moore, because--on its own--it's a distraction from the issue that's not in doubt: He persistently has refused to abide by the law or the Constitution.
