Grow up. Desi's as a right to a sense of humor irrespective of what she does on the roads. You would have hated Prefontaine ...
I never said it wasn't funny. It would have been funny if she privately sent it to her friends. Gathering likes and retweets for a joke from her many adoring fans after she lost to a NOP runner makes her look bad.
And you are right about your last line. Never been a fan of drunk drivers. You got me there.

I doubt Desi is losing sleep over Hasay beating her in Boston. She has two Olympic teams under her belt to Hasay's none. Hasay had nothing to do with her post. I always liked Des but am a huge fan now!! All the posters saying they don't like the Hanson's group anymore probably don't even know any of their other athletes. And no one is a 'fan' of drunk drivers but there is hardly any chance there aren't several in your family and group of friends so that has to be one of the dumbest posts I've seen on these boards and that is saying a lot.
Boy oh boy, you guys just aren't that bright:( She's simply trying to be relevant by getting her name out there, period.

I am torn on this. On one hand, it is funny. I get that. I don't like the idea of tweeting it though. Send it to your close friends in a group chat. That would've been worth a good laugh. That's something I would send my pals. No need to do it so publicly though. It does come across as bitter/jealous. Sorry, Desi. Jordan is better than you. Get over it.

Yes, let's all resort to throwing insults at each other. Are you 15 years old?
Desi most likely won't make another Olympic team with Hasay, Huddle, and the others. Would have held her in much higher regard in the long run to stay out of it.
No I'm an adult. An adult that can recognize Salazar is a bad example of a human being. How many times does he have to prove it?
What's wrong with what Desi posted? What's wrong with wanting a clean sport?

There are none in my group of friends and family.
Then you have no family or friends - sad

Because he doesn't post pigeon poop, on instagram or LRC?

What she posted is what you're criticizing in Salazar, who did nothing of the sort, and pigeon poop is not clean.
Without commenting on whether Salazar/NOP are guilty, this was a joke. I think some of you need to lighten up. This didn't really make people think Salazar puts tiny backpacks on pigeons.

No what I'm criticizing in Salazar is being an awful person. Like driving Nelson out of the sport. Like berating Lomong for no reason. Not for wanting a clean sport like Desi - Salazar is the opposite.

This is incorrect. I don't think Salazar gives his athletes ecstasy, everything else but ecstasy.

I heard a rumor that Coach Alberto's massages can cause an ecstatic shamanic visionary experience with Catholic themes.
Alberto is coach, doctor, pharmacy, shaman, and personal massage therapist for Galen Rupp.
I know that it must be true because I read it in an article by Ken Goe.
Anyone associated with Salazar is scum. The hateful posts here just proves it. Not long until Alberto is banned from the sport aszholes.
She asked a question, who wore it better. I'm going with the pigeon. But I'm trying to understand how did they catch that bird, must be fake.
Brilliant Desi, more runners should be laughing at Salazar and his lab rats.
Wetmore sent athletes to Dr. brown. Care to tweet about him too?
Desi is a smart woman. That tweet was well thought out. She obviously doesn't care about the backlash. I am a little taken back by the fact that she was willing to throw the Hansons and Brooks under the bus. I guess that wasn't important to her.
You're just not very bright, are you? Throw the Hanson's and brooks under the bus? Wow, get a clue Inspector Nutjob!

I am going to put my two (or three) cents in on this, as I am 43 and hence, old enough to have enjoyed seeing Salazar run in the 80s, and, of course Davila/Linden in the last several years. As a fan of both of them, and of running, I completely hate this display for the sport.I admit that yes, I am skeptical of Salazar, as some of his athletes have assumed body shapes that likely did not seem natural for their build. Not to say that there is illegal PED use, but that these athletes are more like engineering projects than simply well-coached athletes. However, what athletes like Linden have to realize is that, as an elite, they are viewed by many as above and beyond, especially by the young girl who wants to be the next Des Linden. Imagine being the parent who has to explain to her daughter why her idol is so mean, leading to a discussion about sport and drugs, thereby stripping the innocence from the sport everyone takes to naturally as a kid.The next issue is that, while the armchair internetter can take a shot at Salazar, even if it is not best, an athlete should not do that, especially since she was never coached by Salazar nor was part of the NOP.In short, NOP is bad for running and now, sadly, Linden is bad for running. I no longer wonder why residents of neighborhoods get mad when streets are closed for our races. How barbaric we must seem.Mike
