He fired Comey because Comey, while he threw the election to Trump at the last minute and had been House counsel on the Whitewater Fishing Expedition, was independent of Trump, denied his claims that Obama was eavesdropping on him specifically, and was very likely to cause him serious, impeachable problems down the road, whether on Russia or on the rampant corruption in the Trump administration--e.g. his son's and daughter's business dealings in China and elsewhere, to name just a couple of instances.

You're wrong. Obama reduced federal payrolls. Took the deficit down during his administration. From January 2009 to January 2017, US military presence in the Mid East and Central Asia was reduced, including agreements set during the Bush Administration.

I didn't approve of the expansion of NDAA. Especially §§ 1021-1022 in 2012.

And pissing off conservatives isn't my goal. I want the lives of all to be improved. I want more cooperation and less animosity.

Charges against Clinton:

1) Not very likable,

2) May have been involved in favorable real estate dealings in the 1980s,

3) One of the 200 countries the U.S. is involved in, a deeply unstable country, had its U.S. ambassador killed while she was Secretary of State,

4) She joined Colin Powell and the Bush administration in having a private email server while in office.

Nothing really there. Sanders was far better as a candidate. She beat him soundly, with some help, and she beat Trump by millions of votes in the election. She lost in the electoral college due to astonishingly narrow losses in virtually every close state (wink, wink).

Charges against Trump:

1) a serial sexual harasser, possible rapist of a minor and of adults,

2) presiding over the most fiscally corrupt administration of the entire history of the United States, with millions in deals going to his family members from foreign powers such as China and Saudi Arabia, and profiting off of the government in many ways while in office,

3) did not fire Michael Flynn after learning that he had lied about secret talks with Russia and hence was subject to blackmail,

4) is caught lying many times on a daily basis, setting new records for politifact,

5) ... you know the rest.

I don't know which I'm enjoying more - that the libs are so crazed over the Comey firing or that they can't do a damned thing about it? Glad Comey is gone, another Obama appointee bites the dust.

If Trump had any courage, he would have fired the 6'8" Comey in person, not when he was across the country. Coward. This is Nixonian. Nixon, Trump's model President (remember the "law and order" motif of the campaign, taken straight from Nixon 1968), fired the special prosecutor who was investigating him. Trump just fired the FBI director investigating him on a range of issues, mostly related to Russia. He is going to fall on that if not the fact that he is using the White House to enrich himself and his family.

Thank God that the Senate has to affirm. Any Comey replacement who decides to cover up any Trump dirt (and this is what Trump wants) faces being in a jail cell. This will not work out the way you or Trump hope it will.
