Her 2016-2017 story is pretty amazing and cover story worthy. Her 10k PR would get her lapped by women like Shalane & Molly yet her Prague half marathon time makes her competitive w/ them. She went from being a high school/college stand out to a borderline non factor in elite track races, to running road times that are equal to or better than our best female US marathoners. Really looking forward to seeing how she handles the 26.2 in a few weeks!
I would guess she can run well under 31:00 for a Time trial big time European Meet (If There are any this summer besides the World Champs, the Stanford 10000 is too close to Boston, Hasay will still be recovering from the Marathon) maybe 30:40
Today Salazar said he may not have Hasay run the 10000 this summer as he might point her to a Fall Marathon Instead.
So many Women can run good 10000's now, but few do opting for the roads instead, weren't the top 2 in Prague about 30:04-30:06? both under the road 10000 record by about 15 seconds (Radcliffe ran 30:21 on the roads and 30:01 on the track) and they kept going 7 more miles, Both of them can obviously go well under sub 30 on the track (would probably still lose by a wide margin to Ayana) but I hope they have more fast 10's on the track, one of the criterias I use to judge runners is how many marks in the All Time top 1000 performances each runner has, Hasay has 2 so far, at age 25-26 she can get many more.
