Most underrated training location in the U.S

The Lehigh parkway is also an ideal training ground for any level of runner, with 7 miles of loose stone trail and many more miles of dirt trails. There are also many big grassy hills and long grassy flats for any kind of repeat, and every workout can end with a dip in the little Lehigh, a winding trout stream. Perhaps the best place to train that no one knows about.

Where in DC? Its all cement. DO you run the WOD trail?

Santa Rosa, California

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Tallahassee, Florida except during the months of June through August. Otherwise outstanding. Extensive trail systems and greenways, great neighborhoods for running, hills in downtown/north of town, flat to the south, super supportive running community including FSU being involved, and cheap races. ZAP Fitness comes here in the winter. This is truly a runner's town. Lucky to live here!!!

Any town in Colorado that you have not heard of would be perfect for training. Dirt roads, high ish elevation, and few distraction.

I visited D.C. for two weeks. I ran 20 hard along the canal, found two parks with trails, and even a running track. It was humid and 105 degrees, but incredible running.

Housing prices and Cost of Living Index are both roughly on par with Flagstaff.

Boise, ID. Awesome trails and parks. 25+ mile green belt for tempo runs. Summers get pretty warm, but even on a 100 degree day, you still need a light sweater in the morning.

All the ones I have read seem great, but don't seem to be underrated? San Diego? That is the Triathlon capitol of the World, it is not like it is not heralded far and wide.

These are all indeed GREAT places to train, but are they underrated? Bend, Bozeman and Santa Rosa are some of the MOST popular outdoor activity destinations and places to move in the U.S. and have been for 20-30 years.

Colorado Springs? It is home to the United States Olympic Training Center and the headquarters of the United States Olympic Committee.

Bellingham may not be well-known to everyone, but I have known about it being a great destination for trails since 1990. I think most people do.

Knobstone Jefferson Memorial Forest Trail and trails offer per day. City Parks And Cherokee Iroqouis mountain gems are also providing some trails.
