He does not have to double though and its not his fault the entire is stupid enough to let the race go to his strengths

His is in weak domestic fields but that is largely down to the race organisers and TV. One of my favourite all time races was watching Bekele beat him in the GNR and that is race is an example of where Farah has not ducked competion. If Bekele was not invited you would just say its an easy field - its not down to Farah who is invited. Another example is the 1500m against Kiprop. Farah is a long distance runner taking on a middle distance runner. El G was a middle distance runner who would not even run an 800m for fear of getting beaten

I agree that apart from Lagat the field is weak but that is down to the organisers and TV. Look at all those American runners going for soft indoor records .Come the World xc where are they - and that is not down to the race organisers

As for the twitter row looks like they are at least half joking. But Vernon started it - don't start what you can't finish. He did the same last year as well. Also even though Stewart was a twat I could not understand why Vernon did not just tell him to feck off back or decked him like a man instead of grassing him up to the managers. Still the twitter row is really storm in a tea cup

Should not Track and Field just be made amateur again? Then top runners will have pressure to spend their spare time doing something productive for society rather than insulting each other over social media. This is what the Britsish blokes call banter, mickey taking or taking the p**s. Friends, colleagues, workmates do this sort of thing all the time. When it's done in the pub, workplace or changing room its it's just a laugh.

However do it on social media where people have lost the concept of face to face communication it just goes pear shaped. Get over it everyone!

Well I made that all up using intuition so its no surprise I missed the full picture. That's also my point here as well, it's clear there's a lot more going on than simply Mo Farah asking for a weak field. There are more actors, more incentives, and more at stake in this game than people either realize or acknowledge. I was simply trying to peel the layers of the onion back a bit rather than pick at the the surface.

More broadly, the entire structure of the game being played in athletics is bad for the sport. Individual actors abiding by the rules of the game are not the problem here and Mo Farah is not to be blamed for looking our for his own self interests. Everyone needs to get off there high horses here and stop acting like if put in a similar situation where you had the power and means to protect your career, you wouldn't do the same thing. I would 100 out of 100 times.

Where is the evidence that Mo is behind this in any way. Other than accepting the £ to race
