Pittsburgh bound for @Pgh10Miler . Not as fit as I'd like to be yet, but a great opportunity to get back out there and compete!

I'm really curious - what made you think he was even remotely capable of running sub 47?

I mean that prediction is so far off what he has done the past few years. You might as well have said he is going to run 40 minutes and set a world best for 10 miles.

Hall failing to break 50 is like Webb failing to break 4:10 in the mile.

He's like a punch drunk fighter , wanting one more fight long past his best , always one more fight , one more round , I got a couple of punches in , I didnt get knocked down this time , its a sad slow race to race exit to a stellar career .....

Nice. 50:25 equals a 2:20 Marathon according to McMillan.

If he can shave off a couple of minutes, he MIGHT just be able to qualify for the OT trials.

Watching Hall is like watching Webb's last couple of years.

I'll gladly answer that.Unlike 99% of this board, I truly don't believe that he's done. Why he's had trouble the last few years, I don't know. I assume he's training and training hard. Unless he's injured, which I hadn't heard, I assume that he very capable of a sub 47. I've run 50:13 for ten miles in Michigan. He's WAY better than me, hence my belief that even in the middle of intense training, he could pull off something in "that range". I was wrong and I admitted it, which is something rare on this board, but go ahead and rip me apart for not being knowledgeable in a sport that I take quite seriously. No one can get them all right.

But...saying that I might as well said that he was going to run 40 minutes and set a world best is a stretch, a big stretch.

No it's not, not a stretch at all.

He had the same chance to run 40 minutes and sub 47. ZERO.

Look at his performances in the past few YEARS. He had have no performances that would indicate a sub 47 time.

This is like saying 2013 version of Alan Webb was going to run 3:50 for the mile.

When you have Hall himself tweeting that he is not fit before the race well...come on man.

This is a guy who has tons of DNFs and poor performances the past few years consistently, he's tweeting that he's not fit beforehand and you predict sub 47.
