What is your point? No offense to Steve but I' m not from Minnesota, I'm not a Big Ten fan and didn't keep track of every runner who finish top 10 in Boston in the 70's especially when they retire from running. We all have our "guys" and steve simply wasn't one of mine.

I am not a big fan of infractions that don't impact the outcome of a race and I'm glad to see that the best athlete gets to represent the USA in Poland. However, this does not change the fact the Gabe did technically (by the rules) commit a foul and AlSal was well within his rights to file a petition.

Good luck in Poland Gabe and plesae be more careful in the future.

Correct...there was procedure. Seems like 85% of the posters here have a problem with the initial rule. Sorry, you can't do whatever you want..I guess GG should be allowed to false start next because, hey, she had a hell of a kick and survived cancer.

What I saw from this girl being discussed was seeing she was getting boxed and making sure she wasn't. Nothing more.

Unbelievable how much crying there is over MINOR contact at an indoor championship race on the final lap. I bet all the criers have NEVER played any sort of contact sport. What a bunch of puss!es you are. If the shoe was on the other foot you'd all be praising Jordan for being tough and fighting for a gutsy win. Since a virtual no-name athlete beat your blonde hero, it is unfathomable that contact was made on the last lap.

I love seeing all of you NOP/AlSal nut huggers cry. Jordan does not deserve to go to world's. Plain and simple. Now she's not. Back on the hormone therapy (Rupp too) and prepare for outdoors Jordan...

I remember who you are, still have the book by Ron Daws, and my friend and I used to do some of the training from it, basically the 1/2 mile hill up/down repeats.

I still say anyone should see the slow motion stop action photos before weighing in on what they think the damage was. I too thought it was incidental before viewing the photos, but it wasn't.

It would help if someone would post the photos again.

Regarding slow mo, stop action photos, they're nice, but like the Zapruder photos of the Kennedy assassination, they can be read in a 100 different ways, depending on the outcome that is desired (Think "grassy knoll" theory, etc.) In real-time, normal speed video, all that can be seen is two fast female runners going all-out on the bell lap. One is "dying" from fatigue, the other is beginning to unleash a great kick. They both go for the same spot momentarily and minor contact is made. Neither falls, or is cut-off, or significantly slowed down. No fault, no foul! This is what the judges correctly decided TWICE! The third time the officials were probably worn down to the point of giving in. The point is: there never should have been a second, or third appeal. You know the saying: "the squeaky wheel (Salazar/Nike) gets the attention."

Steve, I'm very sorry about that, but apparently you've found other things to sustain you. Likewise I want to keep running the rest of my life, however long that might be. When I was in 9th grade and first went out for track, I wrote on a piece of paper "I will die running", of course that was a long time ago. I did run a lot, to and from school etc, but not on a serious level in the earlier years.

I have dreaded not being able to run anymore, but have kind of accepted now that the day with come, and the time that I'm going to die, like everyone else. I will be going, maybe not even cognizant and there won't be a thing I can do.

Such is life, we live it while we can, we appreciate it while we can, the people we know, the people we love. Then it's gone.

J.R: Yes, I always thought that I could run "forever", although slower, of course. I thought that I should be able to run 10 miles any time I wanted! As I got older it kept getting revised downward to 5,3,.... Pretty soon, it was just not fun and I turned to cycling, walk/running. That's where I'm at now. I still love the sport and I coach H.S. track and XC. I like to follow our elites, like Indoor Nationals last week-end.

I hope that you will be able to enjoy your running for a long time. Don't ever take it for granted. Do your stretches and other excercises to keep muscle tone, etc. Like you say, "appreciate it while you can"!

You shouldn't step on people from behind, or run into them from behind. That's simple enough. I don't think that she's doing it intentionally - she's just running and trying to pass - but a runner has to learn how to negotiate in a field. If she continues to get in to foot tangles with people, eventually she will get tripped up.

Can't agree with the brojos, when I saw the race I was thinking of a potential DQ because she made physical contact without doubt two times, using her bigger stature.

- And I know, it's stupid to say it or controversial because quite clearly for everyone to see, she was the fittest girl in the race. I just don't get why she was running like that, without need. In the end I agree with the result of reinstate, but I can see reasons for a dq.

What TWO times did she make contact??? Why not just say 3 or 4 times. Have you seen the replay? And using her bigger stature? What does that mean please?
