I am just sick of seeing his wife everywhere.
She made me think of the reporter in Die Hard. I could picture her turning to the camera guy and asking, "Did you get that?"
She hammered him until she got what she wanted. Her hand on his shoulder when he broke down was pure bull.

Listen up you knunckleheads. I bet none of you is a professional skier let alone could any of you complete a Super G course in under 2 minutes. Until then, you have no right to comment on this story.
Bet I could, especially if it was age graded!
Don't worry. The beauty of the Winter Olympics is that in a couple weeks this will all be forgotten and a year from now people complaining about how horrible the interview was will be like: "Bode who?"
Six Olympic medals and 5 OGs, Bode will be long remembered.
Sadly the one who is already forgotten in all this is Weibrecht who has won a Silver and Bronze in the Super G, but doesn't have the charisma.
Good for him, boo for you Blahhhhh.

Was trying to think when I heard his name mentioned outside the Olympics:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNvB0dsyERQBode did grow up in a rustic environment (no electricity etc.) I think it was more of the live simply attitude rather than we have no money.
Living that way though does save plenty of money that can be used for lift tickets and skis.
News flash, skiing was much cheaper 20- 30 years ago. You don't need expensive equipment to learn to ski.
I grew up in central oregon skiing at Bachelor about 10years before he started skiing. We skied in jeans with long johns, and a jacket etc. Rain pants for when wet. It wasn't expensive and if you had a family ski pass even cheaper.
If he showed promise early I'm sure clubs and teams started funding him.
For me he has always come across as unspoiled with a better appreciation for what is important and what isn't.

Baller. Ski resorts these days just cater to whoever has the Benjamin's. A real shame if you ask me.

Dude, you are way too sensitive. When RoJo said that he believes "you" must be uncomfortably talking about these things, he was referring to "you" in regards to your hypothetical taste for journalism and its techniques, not to you personally. The original post underscored how inappropriate and unprofessional this journalist was, not about the moral implications of awkward questions and implied judgement. At any point Brody could have walked away from the questioning or declined to answer. I think Rojo is supporting and defending bold journalism in contrast too insensitive and sleazy journalism, and in this instance I tend to agree with robby.
Quite wormy rojo, why didn't you answer with your own handle?
How come this thread keeps bouncing between 67 and 69 posts?
Bode did well to get a medal (he was lucky!), but any medal at 36 is a big deal. He ties the record for oldest I believe. Seems to be a bit of a lightning rod of controversy but you can't knock his skiing record, even though Torino was a bust.

That's what most of us thought of him, until that interview.
NBC managed to create empathy for someone who until that point wasn't going to get it.
