I'm 5'8" and it's going fine, so I'd subtract an inch. 6'7" would have some front-loaded benefits- I'd be considered more attractive, probably -- but diffuse costs, like arthritic knees and having to get a lot of my clothes custom-made. Also my gf is 5'0" and I'm going to be that 19" height difference would be a deal-breaker.
I am a 6'1" male and taller than most of my friends, believe it or not. There is a guy we occasionally see in social situations who is 6'8" and he is kind of freakish looking.
I am not sure I'd be happy about losing 6 inches, but I really do not want to go up to 6'7", either. It is a tough choice.
At the end of the day, I think the 5'7" guy is going to live a better life.
FWIW, I think all of you guys saying the 6'7" guy would be considered "more attractive" are crazy. 6'7" is fvcking tall. There is a point of diminishing returns and I think that is around 6'4" or so. Honestly.
If the choice were between 5'6'' and 6'6'', I think 90% of men would choose 6'6''. If the choice were between 5'8'' and 6'8'', I think 90% of men would choose 5'8'' after really thinking about it. 5'7'' vs 6'7'' is tough

5'7" is around the 20th percentile. Shorter than average, but by no means rare.
6'7" is 4" taller than the 95th percentile - a major outlier.
This is a no-brainer 5'7" decision for me.

Well, being 6'7" 185 makes me a semi-crappy runner and a crappy bball player. It's not that bad though, you get used to the stares.
As a 5'7" guy who gets wayyy more action than mt 5'11" - 6'3" friends, the height=attractive thing isn't some sort of RULE or FACT. Sure, sometimes I totally wish I was taller, but when we're all 80 I sure as hell won't.
You could definitively play defensive end. That's a great height for that position. Even outside line backer or tight end would be a good fit

Tall men tend to have more success with women, and studies have shown that employers are more likely to hire a tall person than a short person with the same qualifications, and tall people tend to be smarter than short people.
I'm 5'8. I guess I'd rather by 5'7.
6'7 would be the end of my running, can't imagine being that big and trying to run long distance.
I lived with a 5'4 guy in college who had an epic Napoleon complex, and he actually scored with a surprising amount of quality girls. It's probably easier to pick up girls in the short term as a giant.
Also, as a car enthusiast I'd have to go with 5'7. You can fit in anything and the decreased body mass would really help on an autocross course.
Most of the benefits for being tall are fairly superficial- being noticed frequently, having a presence, etc- and would probably get tiring after a while. I couldn't imagine flying economy class at much over 6 feet.

Currently my proportion is about 2 inches per foot of height so that same proportion would be good.
Another 3 inches wouldn't be so bad, and much better tthan losing 9 so I'd go with 6'7
I am 5'7" and I would not want to be a foot taller than I am now. Im athletic and proportional so Im not too concerned...also I have not experienced any issue getting girls. Its all about confidence. My last girlfriend modeled and was 5'10".
