If a guy is consistently running under 15:30 then he is a BLUE CHIP D1 scholarship prospect. Not good, ELITE.
In MOST states in the US a kid running under 15:30 is one of if not the TOP runner in his state.
My son is on a track scholarship in college for distance. He went to a Division 1 school in Ohio (2200+ students) From his Sophomore year in HS he was the TOP distance runner in his school and one of the top runners in school history.
he has NEVER run a 15:30 or below. His college coach is the 2012 US OLYMPIC distance coach. As a TRUE Freshman he ran the indoor 5k and finished 11/21 with a 16:04. The WINNING time was 15:37
Mind you, these are NOT weekend runners. These are SCHOLARSHIP athletes.
