I think some are intentionally being left out on the women's side because nobody believes they are legitimate.

1935 Big 10 meet, Jesse Owens ties the 100yd WR at 9.4, then sets the long jump WR at 26-8, the 220yd WR at 20.3, and the 220yd hurdle record at 22.6...all in a 45 minute window? That ain't half bad.

Xavier Carter had an impressive Saturday in 06 at NCAA's. Won the 100 in 10.06, 20 min later came back and ran 44.53 in the 400. About 45 min later came back to anchor the 4x4 to a 3:01.

On a another note Jesse Owens still holds the school record at Ohio State in the LJ and after 75 years his jump would still win NCAAs most years. The man was an all time great.
Devers has two interesting doubles. The first is the 100/100 Sprint/Hurdle double from Stuttgart in 1993 and the 2nd is her repeat as the Olympic champ in the 100 dash in 1992 and 1996. Not bad for someone who ranks 4th on the all time list for hurdlers.
Jackie Joyner Kersee won the Hept and the LJ in Rome 87 and Seoul 88. The latter Hept was a WR that still stands and her 7.40 LJ is an Olympic Record.
I am a big fan of the guys and gals that run the 400 and 800. Its a pretty cool double at any level. El Caballos is pretty special.
Any of the Bolt, Bekele, Zatopek, El G mentions are spot on. They are all in a league of there own.

Juantorena's double required 3 rounds in both the 400 (maybe 4) and the 800, and if I remember correctly, there was at least one day where he ran a round of each. Also,
while some of the training for each event is similar, there are distinct differences in order to run at the world level. It was unique, as nobody else has done it, as opposed to the 5K / 10K. He was big and incredibly strong, and his stride was beautiful. While all of the "nominations" did outstanding things, there was no doubt about who was "The Man" at Alberto's Olympics.

If not for this I would have voted for Zatopek.
I had no idea so I had to look it up. He ran an 800 heat on 7/23, semi on 7/24, final on 7/25. 400 heats and quarters were 7/26, semis 7/28, finals 7/29.
kenenisa bekele 5k in 13:09.19, 5k in 13:08.34, no rest.
Robert K. from Poland won both the 20K and 50K in the Olympics.

I'd have to say Bolt's Olympic double from the year before was better since it was the greatest time decrease of the most globally meaningful event.
However my top double would be Jonathan Edwards breaking 18 meters and then 60 feet in the same meet. Even the shorter jump has never been approached.
One of the best I've ever seen was a Beer Mile-Chug N Run Double back in college. Nuts.
