Some good analysis.
What do you think of the Minimus for those that can run in it?
Opinion is not analysis.
I happened love my 790s which destroys half this guys point.
the MT100s are very popular with the ultra runner I know.
They do have too many numbers/ styles
Just noticed your response. Actually you are the moron. The question had noting to do with the marathon, simply a road racing flat. Read and understand and read again until you understand, before you fire off responses that are not on point.
You have to try the new New Balance 890! I've been wearing New Balance shoes since 1979 and these are the most awesome lightweight training shoes I've ever worn! I promise you will love them!

Tried them on today, great shoe!
Hands down one of the most simple, basic shoes that is super light. No big bridge plate in the middle, just solid rubber all across. I am a mid foot stricker, but when going down hill you basically have to go heel--toe. Great ride and last as well. Get a pair!!!
Just wait until some of their new flats start hitting the market. Quite simply "AMAZING" RC 1400, RC 1600, welcome back New Balance.
I am thinking about getting a pair of these. What do you think about the huge toe-heel drop? Thanks.
Ther isn't a huge heel to toe drop. I believe it is less then the Nike Pegasus. It's right in the middle of all the major brands. NB finally got it right with this shoe. And yes, the new road racers are going to amazing. NB finally is getting on board with their stuff.

Depends on what you're comparing them to. If you training in low drop shoes, the NBs may feel a little chunky. If you train in regular trainers, 12mm drop is average. They felt great on my foot.
If you could take the materials from the Puma Faas 500 (another amazing shoe, by the way. No joke, take them out for a 2-3 mile run and tell me they aren't the smoothest ride you have ever had in a trainer)and use the tooling and last from the NB 890, you would have the perfect light neutral trainer.
American men regularly now run sub 13 5k and sun 27 10k but marathons stuck at 2:07. What gives?
