Yeah, just like Wejo was wasting his time walking onto the Yale XC team.
If a tuition break is the only/main thing drawing a student-athlete to run, then there's a problem.
To advise someone not to do D1 athletics just because she is a walk-on is a stupid idea. How about this? -> She gets to IMPROVE as a runner. She LOVES running. She will have the time of her life and make life-long friendships. She can live knowing she gave it her all as a D1 runner. She will be competitive on at least the local scene. And hell she might get a lot better and then become a scholarship runner.
