I waved for the runner behind me to pass me and share the pace...at the 400 in an 800, then I tucked in behind him and out kicked him in the last 80 meters.
Some people gave me shit for that; the thing is, I didn't plan it, just felt like doing it, it was just after high school where I ALWAYS had to lead, and I just didn't feel like leading for once.
The other runner didn't mind, but the meet director gave me shit.
What's up with that?
Now a days you see runners ask others to share the duties all the time.
