HAHAHHA your post makes me laugh. First of all, it is EDDIE Mercx, not Axel. Axel is his son. Secondly, Kloden would have gotton dropped anyway whether Contador had accelerated or not. The acceleration merely shook Kloden and he bailed out a bit earlier than he may have wanted.

Contador is in NO WAY a "villain." He is a fantastic bike rider. Armstrong played a decent team mate role to him, but I think either way he had done things, Contador would have won. He is just too quick up the climbs for anyone else.

I am pretty firmly of the belief that there are a lot of -eat-your-own anti-Lance fans on this board - and the reason I say it is because if you're a cycling fan in the USA and you dont respect what Lance has done for the sport - you're just knocking your head against a wall.

Maybe you should go back to your football game a drink a few more beers while smacking your wife and kids around too - because you're not helping American cycling advance in any way shape or form.

Lance is hard-nosed, he's a winner, and he's not afraid to play the alpha-role. This happens in cycling - and it happens in life. Masters of the universe make their own destiny by taking control of situations while others sit back and watch or criticize. Let it bother you if you want to - but I don't - I admire it.

Ultimately - its each person's individual interpretation of how this race went and what it means for the future - and, unfortunately, you're entitled to yours.

Although your first quote is about Lance, it could just as easily be said about Contador.

That addition of Lance Armstrong and the out-ing of his ridiculous junior high twittering fight with Alberto Contador was the only good thing Fox has done recently. Slash I laughed out loud.
