I can't believe that people have been trying to put them in the same league as Kenny B. Come on now.
Bekele is closing in 53 to run 26 seconds off his PB. Even Bekele has to run more evenly paced when he is at the end of his rope.

Bekele may lose, but it's not going to be to Teg and Solinsky. Both are excellent runners, but Bekele and the likes are from a different planet. And, the only way a non-African wins is if 2 or 3 people up front miscount the laps.

Its clear you don't like keeny b for some reason. Who's the one that won an olympic gold in beijing beating bernie by almost ummm lets see 30 seconds compared to when lagat beat him by one second in 06.

Excuses, excuses. If he was that "injured/ill" as you say he was than I hardly doubt he would have qualified for the final. Hell, he beat kenny b in the prelims running 2:24 for his last k with a 53 sec last lap.I didn't hear he was injured or sick then. Now all of a sudden he gets his ass handed to him in the finals by a mere thirty seconds now its all he was injured/sick blah blah blah crap. But keep trying to discredit kenny b because you're very good at that. If lagat gets his ass handed to him again you probably say he was suffering from butt cramps or something and would've run 12:41 with 7:28 last 3k or some stupid sh**t like that. and 1500/5000 defending world champion.
But agreed he would be the 7th fastest kenyan in the 5000 this year. Good thing he doesn't have to race 4 of those guys because they weren't the defending WC and hence aren't auto qualified.
yes. It was the Olympics not the world champs, people were fitter faster and tested. Lagat missed out by one spot from the Semi of death, widely regarded as as hard as the final.. so he very likely would have ended up 6th or 7th in the final.
Believe all the Jacobs excuses you like, but Lagat was fine in Beijing but got soundly beaten, twice. That is all.

Teg & Solinsky first have to prove that they can run 13:00 pace for at least 11 laps. then we can see what they do in the last lap and a half. i think tegenkamp could go 13:00 this summer if he got into a big, fast race, but since worlds are this year, he'll probably be more concerned with being in good race shape.
Remember, Tegenkamp opened with a 13:22, finishing behind Alistair Craigg. In his next race, he outkicked Craigg to finish 4th in 7:37 for 3000m. In his last race, he ran 13:30 pace until running the last lap in 53 seconds, to finish in 13:20. I think tegenkamp will be in peak career shape this summer. i would like to see him bust out a 7:32 and/or top 3 at worlds and/or a 13:00. we'll see.

a fit lagat in the past could have dominated the 1500 if Guerrouj would not have been around and he has shown that he still has it.
