well its not polite of me to give that person's name without consent but you are right about the redshirt stuff. even still he ran one race out of the blue and it was brilliant.

Murphy?
he had a great senior year of xc, but has been injured ever since. if he is healthy he could definitely play a big role for nyu. but you can't really count on someone who has been injured for the the past year and a half.

Novaro and Williams from fredonia will defintley be front runners. Beck produced a decent team in one year. I think the fredonia team will turn some heads
Considering they have 2 beast mid-d runners (McMahill and Guarino, 1 and 2 in the outdoor SUNYAC 800) with Guarino also the runner up in the 1500, I'd say the potential is there.
Sure Fredonia has 2 "beast" 800 runners but this is an 8k. Guarino ran 26:40s and McMahill naver broke 27. If cross coutry turned into an 800 meter run then they might have a shot.

maybe McMahill, he really hasnt shown too much endurance wise. guarino though was good also in the 1500 and ran couple road 5Ks running in the high 15s. Fredonia looks to be putting the pieces together though and looks to be a contender this year.
Beck has done a good job at Fredonia. 1-2 at SUNYACs in the 8 was pretty shocking to me. No doubt Guarino is a good 800 runner, and has even shown some 1500 stamina. Assuming Tom Williams continues his form from last year (did anyone else think he looked a little beat-up at the end of the season?), Novaro runs well, and Guarino pops some PRs...where does that team contend for a top 5 regional finish or a top 3 SUNYAC mark? I'm assuming that's what you meant when you said they look to be a contender THIS year. I don't want it to sound like I'm trying to knock Fredonia, but I think any team that can't put 5 guys under 26:10 (?, maybe faster)will be bleeding points. That goes for the likes of teams like Ithaca and RIT too.
I'll agree with mikejones on this one. Beck did a lot in a very short amount of time at Fredonia, and I would not be surprised to see them continue to improve.
They have the tools to be a good team, but it will take a big performance from all of them to beat teams like Geneseo. I'd put them on a similar footing as Plattsburgh. Not as much firepower on the top, but a little deeper, should threaten for top 5.

Ithaca's 8 or 9ish guy last year, i think
i see your point but dont forget about guarino's twin brother and also a couple others from the same class.
but i have to say i somewhat agree they will just be out of a spot for nationals for my prediction.
Also my take on cortland there is a reason they did not do so good in the track season and alot of there runners got hurt, the coach. that being said i still think they will make to nationals though there chances at winning sunyacs and regionals has significantly decreased.
where are peoples top 5 predictions?

Plattsburgh in front of NYU? SLU in front of Plattsburgh? Spelling Plattsburgh, "Plattsbugh"? There's so many things wrong with your top 5 for men.

I am going to have to agree with woah nelly on his decision to leave Plattsburgh out of this years top 5. Last year was a fluke and it won't happen again this year. Rumor has it they lost two of their top 5 AND they are over rated to begin with!

Heymann will be a force, Yernye will be good, and Seth Jackson may surprise. Besides those 3 they're looking pretty thin though.
Go ahead and leave them out of the top 5 but when has Plattsurgh ever been over rated?

Last year when they did nothing to warrant a top 5 ranking in our region, everyone still placed them there in predictions. The fact that Ben Jackson ran so well that regional meet, whether planned for or the fluke it's been made out to be, is irrelevant. Even those people who were right weren't basing their predictions on what the team had already accomplished, but on a non-sensical whim that became dogmatic and the popular "darkhorse pick" for the season. That's where they were over-rated. Their making it to nationals and those over-ratings being correct, still doesn't change the fact that they were predicted to come out higher than their current ability at the time of prediction would have allowed.
swifty are you brian coyle?
Greek God, I think you got Ben and Seth Jackson mixed up. Seth Jackson running well, which I expect, will do little to help Plattsburgh as he goes to SLU. They are cousins though.
whoa nelly, I respectfully disagree with your choice to put RIT in front of SLU. NYU? yeah, I could see that, but RIT? While I have RIT as my dark horse, and I'm a big fan of their program, I don't see them beating the saints this year. One major flaw in my opinion is picking Hardbarger over Ramsey. Now I like Hardbarger, but the last time he ran a regional race 4 saints crossed the line in front of him. Is he a better runner now? Of course, but SLU has gotten a better team too.
i think we all know how i feel about ramsey
