It doesn't matter. The Olympic Games could be entirely taxpaid and any schmuck off the street still wouldn't be able to film it and put it your own site for your own purposes without permission.

It's not a "public event" like you'd find in a park for free. The CIF charges money for entrance and no doubt own or have sold the rights to some broadcaster. So just the same as the NFL will stop you from recording a game and putting it on your own site. The organizers did the work and they own the rights. So they can buy the rights or create their own event.

You really think the NFL and CIF are the same? What percentage of public funds do you think go into putting on an NFL game. Now do the same figures for the state meet.

gedyon's time suggests that he has a shot at that national soph record. to run about a 4:09 mile equivalent in a race than went out in 2:07 suggests he might have another 3 second drop in him.

Nice results, awesome meet, but I don't know about so much fanfare for the girls 800. You guys talk like its some epic event of all time. Check out the NJ Meet of Champions and tell me what you think. Jillian Smith is still 3 seconds faster than these CA girls and there was great depth there as well. NJ, per capita, is a better track state. Lets be honest, and I am a CA resident.

The top 2 girls ran the #3 and #4 in the nation.

California has had AMAZING 1600/3200 girls these last few years with Anna Sperry, Shannon Murakami, Anne St. Geme, Chetelat, Babcock, Kosinski, and Hasay to name a few... so it's great to see some 800 standouts.

Kori Carter and Wyatt both take 2 state titles.

I feel so sad... this almost seems like the end of an amazing era for the California distance girls as Hasay graduates this year...

Your conclusion is correct that one needs permission to film. Your premise of "capitalism" is ridiculous, however. When a a publicly funded organization collects money for future public interests, it is the purest form of socialism.

Can you please provide lap by lap updates for the girls 3200... and not just Hasay, Dunne and the others as well? Thank you so much for your updates!!

I believe that Fox Sports Net or Comcast Sports in California might be airing the State Meet at some point in the next few weeks. They've televised it in years past anyway.
