Really disappointing race. It was just Mottram out there for most of it. Doesn't really indicate anything in my opinion.

I can't wait to see another sweep from the u.s. this year at worlds.
Like the sweep last time at World Championsips? Oh, wait... Or the sweep in 2003? Oops, that wasn't a sweep either. 2001? No medals at all, actually. In fact, the U.S. has never swept the medals in the men's 400m at the World Championsips. (They did, of course, pull it off at the 1968, 1988, and 2004 Olympics.)
was it warm at the meet?
Damn, hurry up already. I broke 8 twice and crushed the 3k...but that's another story.
74 degrees. 40% humidity. Breezy.
so how many gold medals today did US win?!?
Conditions need to be near perfect for a sub 8.
Ideally you want 55 to 65 degrees and no wind or humidity. Also, a good pacer. The pacer in this race hit a 61, then 62 near where he dropped off. Buster was already 3-4 seconds in the hole thanks to the pacer. So he had to run at the very least a 3:57 solo mile in the windy at that point to even run a 8:00 flat.
Just goes to show the extreme importance for good pacers.

Not a bad time and a solid win but i think it's time for the 5k for bernard, with no k.b. at worlds this year lagat, mottram, and along with kenyans abc, and ethiopians xyz are hte favs.
Um....I've been on Mars. No kb at worlds 5000? Are we sure?
What is up with boniface? has he raced anything really poorly recently? I think this is considerably slower than his 10k pace.
KB's doing the 10k at Osaka.

Apparently.
KB has been saying he's only going to do the 10k for months now.
Only about half of the posters can read and retain details like this though, so it's constantly spread around that he's doubling, when in reality he hasn't alluded to the double at all. It's always a possibility for the WR holder though.
has to be dissapointing for alistair. what is his event going to be at world champs?
