Sorry flagpole, i've never seen a picture, and thats just the image in my mind whenever i read your posts. something like the michael caine character in children of men. i guess its just the stock wise-old-hipster-who-offers-the-critical-piece-of-wisdom-and-encouragement-to-the-hero-at-his-lowest-point character, but thats what i think.

I thought it was an enjoyable read and pretty well done. There are so many aspects of the letsrun board that you have no choice but to pick and choose what to focus on in a paper that length, and I thought outsiders and insiders alike would understand the essence of the board.
Let us know when you convert the essay to a powerpoint presentation, that would really put it over the top.

Henry was a Kenyan who competed in USA collegiate cross country. His best event was the 5k on track and roads, but he was successful in cross country. He had very poor dental health (his incisors were missing) , and its sad his college didn't hook him up with dental care. He was kinda the starting point of when kenyans started interfering in american college xc races. Some folks feel that due to his Kenyan ancestry, he shouldn't have been allowed to compete in america against american college kids. I am actually one of those individuals. He was pretty much a male version of Sally Kipyego.

I don't know why Dahl insists. Henry didn't have poor dental health, and Kenyans made it to America years before Henry did. Rono wasn't even World Class until 18 months AFTER he matriculated at WSU. Kenyans didn't affect Dahl at all, because Dahl wasn't a runner of any kind. Dahl wasn't even born until 12 years after Rono arrived at WSU.
