I beat a few guys on the middle school xc team so they invited me to run in an invitational, i came in like 19th or something like that (i just remember it being an odd number)
didnt really run much until i joined track in 8th grade when i put up a 5:44
Somewhere between 10-12 minutes. I couldn't run the whole way.
Finally ran a whole mile in 8:04 after trying once a week for a couple months during gym.
6:36
3rd grade
4th grade, roughly 9:45. Got down to 7:15 by 8th grade.
6:20 6th grade PE mile. In track that year, I want to say about 5:40 but I don't really recall.
It was a 1500...5:20, 8th grade.
Full mile, 5:12 at the end of 9th grade
I've got the blue ribbon for winning my age group in the mile hanging up right here by the computer, along with a couple for the two mile.
9:29
7/7/77 (age 9)
Must've gotten stale off my training program of zero base, zero speedwork, because three weeks earlier on 6/19 I'd run sub-18 for the two mile.
6:45 in my 6th grade PE class.
I ran 7:09 in 7th grade, was not an athletic kid at all. The first meet after I actually turned out for track in 9th grade I ran 5:35. I ended up running my PR of 4:30.7 at age 29.
About the same here. 6:3x and slow jogged/walked the last 1/2 lap. Only needed to run sub 7 for a A. Only ran as hard as I had to for the A. I think I ran too fast.

6:48 in PE class my freshman year of high school. We had to run under 7 min to get an A. I remember stopping and walking in the 3rd lap.
4th grade PE, 6:40.
5th grade PE, somewhere around 10:00, walked most of it. First timed mile I ever ran the whole way was at the end of 9th grade XC, 5:38.
5:42 as an 8th grader it was fun beating all the boys.

On the track: 5:33 in Gr. 10 (this was some standard thing, I was NOT interested in the track team at that school I was at then!). First track race I was in, following year (different school) 4:48 3rd. place.
6:03 7th grade.
4:49 freshman year in HS.
Went up to the track by myself when I was in 6th grade and ran 6:00. After experiencing that much pain, I ran the 880 in junior high because I thought the mile was too far.
Went from the 880 right to a 10k after 8th grade.
