Well, that is quite a logical leap.
The males have also had very good success with the current training program. They have won league titles and been competitive on the state level. Yes, the women's teams have done this more often, but their success is relative to their competition. Womens xc is newer in our league/state than men's and likely not as well developed. Also, as you suggest, there could be less competent coaching for a larger percentage of female teams.
I believe the training program we use is optimal for both sexes.
