As far as I know there is at least one boy in the group (or certainly club), Ben Coldray who is a very talented youngster. Last year one of the top 2 under 13s in the country over X-country. Met him at a 3k race at Watford last year and whilst I was clear of him, he wasn't that far back! 9:30 or so I think. Very talented youngster.
Just thinking about other lads that may have been in the group, I think Tom Felce was and now that I flick my mind back I'm fairly sure Davenport was as well.
I think that perhaps the reason his methods work so well, is that perhaps he does have higher training loads than would be expected for athletes of that age, and the reason it wouldn't be so effective for the guys could be that guys naturally tend towards more adult training loads ( accross the country I'm sure there are more lads out there training with big mileage than there are girls) and so his group doesn't look so special.
Total shame that a very talented athlete isn't going who had the potential to medal and this mess between the Pigeons, Farrow and UKA has to be sorted out.
I think the big question that's starting to spring to mind is that Farrow not having a coaching license has to be due to...
a) UKA being extremely incompetent at no reinstating him
b) UKA still having worries- which by now should still really have been addressed.
