Norway produced 1 genetic freak at the olympic level. That's it. (Oh, & a 400 medal if you count the 400 in which case the US would blow you out of the water.) You're acting like you're the leaders of the world or something.
You suck at the marathon. Your female mid & distance runners are bad. Jakobs kick isn't going to get any better with each passing year. Who are your upcoming stars?
The norwegian record in the marathon is better than the american marathon record.
Hahahahaha this DevonGlazerGuy is getting burned.🤡🤣🤡🤣🤡🤣
Add in the literal Olympic decathlon champion, and that is easily AT LEAST SEVEN Norwegian TnF athletes who would be ranked top-3 in the US.
Population 5.5 million.
A lot more Norwegians could make the US team than, say, Minnesotans, South Carolinians, or Alabamians.
Nobody wants to read your lame population excuses or per crapita nonsense. It's country vs country, not country vs state.
OK. Let's do "country-vs-country."
(I see you admit that Norway is much stronger per capita. 😭)
NORWAY ALSO HAS MORE GOLDS THAN THE U.S. IN DISTANCE RUNNING.
For events 800m+, in the last 5 global championships (post-pandemic: 2021 OG, 2022 WC, 2023 WC, 2024 OG, 2025 WC), Norway has 4 golds while the US has only 3.
You lose again!
(Take out the 800 to make it actual "distance running, and it's 4-1 for Norway.)

Desperate cherry picking by you. You left out the global indoor championships. Include those golds as they should be, and US has more. Count all medals in the distances, and US has more. Count golds and medals in all events, and US wins again because we have the most well rounded track and field team in the world. USA is #1.
Norway's per capita success in a country of just 5.6 million shows how much better their approach is.
Call us when the state of Minnesota has as many global top-10 runners as Norway lol.
They need to call us in Scotland too. We also have 5.6 million people, and have regularly supplied 2 or 3 1500m finalists and Olympic and world middle distance medallists.
If we were still the same country, as we were once a long time ago, we would be supplying half the global final fields from our combined 11 million people. In fact, if we just drew them from Bergen and Edinburgh, we would still be winning multiple medals on the international stage.
The US clearly has a lot of talent, but proportionately is doing quite poorly per head of population. If it wasn't for Cole Hocker, that medal cabinet would be looking rather empty.
Great post. I love the point about Bergen and Edinburgh.
Other than Hocker, the 340 million population of the US hasn't produced a single 1500+ championship winner in the past 10 years.
This would be like Europe distance runners getting only one gold per decade. (While in half that time Europe has had multiple winners: Ingebrigtsen, Wightman, Kerr, Hassan...)
Nordas and Berg BOTH ran faster than Hocker or Nuguse last year. 🤡
So they are double LOL?
That wasn't the question. The question was name a Norweigian track athlete that would make a US team not named Jakob/Karsten. Nordas and Berg wouldn't have made the US team last year.
If you wanted more people in your little country, your ancestors should have had the wit and might to stay or grow bigger. Like ours in the US did.
What a bizarre post. We don't want more people. We certainly don't need a bigger population to do well in athletics, that's for sure! But given so many of you are descended from us Scots and Norwegians, what went wrong?
We also don't have a significant proportion of our population descended from slaves.
How is your low life expectancy and coming along? Got it over 80 years yet? I agree you have a lot in common with India.
Right? That post makes no sense.
The US is remarkably unable to even support a healthy population, or keep up with Europe in terms of distance running medals. (I was just there and in many places it is like a third-world country.)

LOL - you pathetically need to combine all the countries in a continent to try to go against the dominant USA. Weak!

HAHAHAHAHA. 🤡🤡🤡
Indoor WC is not remotely on the same level as the actual WC and the OLYMPIC GAMES.
How ironic that you bring up the special Olympics of distance running, while accusing others of cherry-picking. Desperate and pathetic.

Norway has 4 distance golds post-2020.
The USA has... 1.
It all counts. Your desperate cherry picking fails.

Why wouldn't they?
Both literally ran faster times in 2025 than Hocker did, and he managed to make the piss-weak USA 2025 WC squad... (13th place being the BEST American finish on the team.😭🤣)
Jæger beat every American in the 2025 WC 400 except Sydney. (She made the final, unlike the rest of America's team.)
Kibrab ran a 2:04:24 in 2025, faster than any American...ever. (Gosh, do you think he could beat Reed Fischer (28th) and CJ Albertson (40th) to get on the mighty US team?)

Pretty sure they could make the team!
There's a difference between championship racing and time trials. If it was about having the fastest time, Hoey would have made the 800 team. He didn't.
