I live in France so "allez allez !" is common, I don't hate it, always makes me smile
sweaty 40-something, so I wear like the 3-inch or 5-inch shorts in warmer weather. in winter, often tights.
Get the "put on some pants" a lot. Especially if I make the mistake of running past a high school.
Ever get any comments from women?

Kinda strange for me to hear all the mean comments people say they get while running. I can’t remember getting any mean or runnophobic comment in my area, but I also live in a fairly liberal urban running-friendly area. The one time I do remember when someone was mean was when I was running on the bike lane and a biker was coming down fast and was annoyed at me for being in his bike lane (even though there was plenty of room for him to pass safely) as opposed to the sidewalk or the road itself and yelled some obscenity. I think that jerk would have been mean to anyone in his lane, not runners in particular.
I used to get the F word a lot before I stopped dressing like an F word when I ran.
Typical is run, forrest, run. That movie's dead. I'm about ready for the words to die as well. But it is a sign I'm running at a decent pace. I never get it except close to 7 minute pace or better. I get run faster occasionally. I caught up to the guy who said that to me in Savannah in traffic and said, I beat Lance Armstrong in the New York City Marathon, is that fast enough for you? That shut him up. In fact, if you respond, they almost never have a comeback. Worst I got, was die fa&&ot die from a full monster truck on Halloween and I got that from a distance from a pickup truck another time. I had a glass bottle thrown in my direction by a couple teens last night, and some words as well. Previously, I had rocks thrown at me by teens once and someone hit me with a small gatorade bottle from a car near the same spot. Most of the comments I get are positive. Brothers will usually say, get after it or keep it up, or doing good or the like. Then there's the occasional, the cops after you? or who're you running from?
It's been a while, but the last shout out to me while running was, "Go back to Mexico, wet back!"
Never mind that I am 3rd Generation native born US Citizen.

It has been a while since I’ve heard it but was out on my Sunday long run and went past a group of teenagers exiting a music event. The comment - “Run Forest Run”. Was impressed they were familiar with the movie given it was an early 90s. Anyone else get this one or any others?
"You have an enormous bulge in your shorts"
happens to me on nearly every run
Hey, Bernie Sanders!!!!
(Yes, there is some resemblance.)
"Mom, why is he running outside in his underwear?"
In the 70’s it was brutal
in the 80’s it was brutal but less so
in the 90’s rare but brutal
Running, broken down and hobbling in 2026, a lot of thumbs up.

Can you imagine trying to run in the suburbs in the 1940s or 50s? Joe Friday would probably pull up in a squad car and arrest you.
"Nice A$$" is what I hear the most. It doesn't bother me as much as it used to, but I do check to make sure they aren't following me.
