Can we get clarity on if tanner is moving to Melbourne?
great that stewy is staying sponsored but not sure this move is really going to move him on training wise and his training partners will certainly be of a lesser standard

Fellow kiwi in Melbourne connor_runs_it commented “moving to Melbs?” And Sam replied “yeah boy”
Speaking of Nic's charges, does anyone know if Sinead is fit and lining up in Tokyo in a couple of weeks? She's on the start list, be very interested to see how the first mara in ages goes.

Training partners shouldn't matter too much if he is following the right training program. And if the news about Tanner is true, this will be a good addition.
Also, If anyone has some further info on the below athletes and what's coming up, i'd greatly appreciate it.
Seth O'Donnell: Ran world cross country early January and hasn't posted anything on social media since. Hoping he didn't sustain another stress injury (apparently he had 6-8 last year?) Surprisingly hasn't been at any milers meets like he did last year.
Stewy McSweyn: Presumably left Nike and the whisper is he's signed with OAC/ON, hasn't posted on social media in 6 months. I'd love to know if he's racing any of the summer meets?
Matt Ramsden: Still with Nike apparently, no social media updates in almost a year. Unsure if he's even running anymore?
Don't mind me guys, just trying to follow this silly sport. haha
Matt Ramsden was second to Nic Griggs in Armagh 5k road race last night in Northern Ireland in 13.39

Pretty sure there’s a British Matthew Ramsden too, look up on World Athletics profiles. Aussie Ramsden is on the start list for the 5k in the Perth Track Classic this afternoon.

Haha wrong Matt Ramsden. Although the British Matt Ramsden is going much better than the Australian one right now....
Does anyone know if this 5k in Perth was recently added? I cannot recall seeing it on the schedule earlier this week.
It looks like it's Matt Ramsden and all his WA training partners.
It was always on the schedule as far as I’m aware. The race also has a sponsored title so they wouldn’t just come up with that last minute.
Pisser screenshot on the IG austracknocontext from Liam Cashin who replied all to an email that I’m guessing was sent to everyone competing, asking to withdraw from the 5000 as it’s a weak field. Pretty poor of AA to only release the competitor list the week before too.

I'm more excited about the C race in the NSW 5,000m champs... Hopefully some of the other summer series have better fields, because this one looks very average.
Heck, Crokes time would have taken third in the Perth event if he’d run. Pretty shocker entry list when the NSW 5000 C race is almost all faster than a Bronze meet field.
Just watched a few highlights from the Perth meet. I know it's the first real meet of the summer but apart from the 800m, it was genuinely boring. Looked worse than a milers meet.
I must be missing something that track fans like about Tamsyn Manou because she is like nails on a damn chalkboard. Her audible gasps at the end of races are the most cringeworthy tripe i've heard in any sports commentary in my life. Does this woman not take notes on what actually good commentators do? Everytime I hear her speak on comms, it's like they've gotten some random mum from the crowd to come up and spew silly anecdotes and stories about athletes she knows. Someone along the line has gaslighted everyone into thinking Tamsyn provides any value and she should be on every commentary team until the end of time. Kill me
Whilst I'm ranting here, i'm tired of pretending McAvaney was ever a good race caller. He may be ok for horse racing but he's good not good at athletics. People just rate him based on nostalgia.
I agree 100%. 'The Bruce' is hugely overrated and incredibly annoying - watch his interview years ago with Carl Lewis, he's terrible. Manou is just bad in every way. Both make constant mistakes. Last World's I remember they called Frank Shorter Franker Shorten as an example. They have no knowledge of runners beyond that of their favorites and generally chat about themselves. Colbert is like the embarrassing uncle that gets invited to Christmas lunch. They should watch videos of David Coleman as a example of what to do. Hutchings and Cram are great. I like Ovett when he commentates. Rupp was also good in what I have heard from him.
A few days out from the event, we have some startlights for the Perth track classic. Given Athletics Australia won't hope their own sh1t up, Here's some match-ups.
Nozomi Tanaka, the queen of Japanese track is making her way down under for the women's 1500. This should be a really interesting race against Abbey Caldwell. Women's 1500 Startlist.

The men's 800m is pretty stacked locally with Peter Bol and a few others making their first real appearance for the season. Tiarnan Crorken from the UK is also competing with a PB of 1:44:48. I'm not sure if it's just AA's inability to promote it, but i'm just not feeling the hype for these meets anymore. I'm sure Maurie Plant will be good but I feel like AA has missed about 500 tricks somewhere down the line.
Footy starts this weekend and people don't give a fck about track.
If these are the best of the events then I can see why they're not bothering to hype it.
Personally I'm interested to see how some of the promising WA junior sprinters go.
14 yo Charlotte Ehioghae really impressed with 11.22 (+2.2) ! A shame both her runs weren't wind legal.
