Trump could have commuted the sentence while upholding the conviction since everyone is up in arms about the potential jail time. It may create Eighth Amendment challenges, but very minor here... Rules are rules, and I wish justice would be enforced equally despite wealth, social media following or political leanings. Instead, some politicians with no knowledge of land preservation have decided what is overreach and what is not.
Rules are rules except for Trump. 34 felony convictions and no penalty. Release the Epstein files.
There are few crimes that render a “Death Penalty” in my opinion. Capital Murder, Espionage, Rape, and without question the worst crime of all “Using A Closed Trail in Grand Teton National Park” the fact that Trump pardoned this guy is insanity. This is literally the type of animal that will go to a high school track with a locked gate and hop the fence with the intention of completing a workout. People like this need to be locked away. He is utilizing unavailable resources to get illegal workouts in which can possibly give him an unfair advantage to his competition that is not using “Closed Trails” and is also finding “Unlocked” opportunities to get “Legal” workouts in.
I supposed next our country will put a "Reality TV Star" in the highest position of political office. Yeah why not make some unqualified guy from something like the "Apprentice" and make him the President of the United States of America.
Is this the first Trump pardon everyone can support!?
Can't believe the guy was facing jail time for doing something all the other record holders had done.
Here's the issue here:
I know a lot of police officers and detectives (they just happen to be connected with my running group).
When someone breaks the law and the police do their job, the courts have to back them. When they don't, they get angry and I don't blame them.
Trump pardoning this guy just says it's ok to break the law. Of course this is coming from Trump who is anti-law enforcement and anti-military so no one should be surprised.
Just because others have done it or continue to do it doesn't make it ok.
