Chill, people — this EPO rumor isn’t as simple as everyone’s making it out to be.
I know everyone’s fired up about this EPO rumor, but let’s take a breath — this stuff is way more complicated than what’s being tossed around here.
Just because Lets Run emailed the coach and haven’t posted a response from the coach doesn’t automatically mean the program’s hiding something. If this even might involve a USADA or NCAA matter, the coach and school are most likely going to be told to stay quiet until things are verified. Speaking too soon can cross legal lines (FERPA, defamation, etc.) or screw up any investigation. Silence doesn’t mean guilt — it usually means the lawyers said, “Don’t say a word.”
Also, let’s clear this up: this isn’t a police matter — it’s a sports regulation issue. When people say someone got “busted,” they usually just mean and should mean a potential use or possession of EPO was uncovered. There doesn’t appear to be any failed NCAA drug test (did the NCAA even do any testing at nuttycomb?) criminal arrest, or police investigation here. This is NCAA territory, not law enforcement.
And honestly, the coach might not even know what’s true yet. If something was supposedly “found,” (unless it was also admitted to) they wouldn’t have confirmation it’s EPO until there’s proper lab testing and documentation. Even if someone “admitted” something, that’s not the same as an official finding.
Plus, if the runner wasn’t drug tested, we flat-out don’t know. Anonymous posts claiming “he confessed and turned in others” don’t mean much without real proof. Let’sRun is great for discussion, but it’s not a courtroom or a lab.
Bottom line: if there’s any truth to this, it’ll come out through official channels —NCAA, or the university. Perhaps the university, newspaper or local press will take a Perhaps the university, newspaper or local press will take a lead? Until then, it actually makes sense that the program’s staying quiet.
So yeah, maybe the rumor ends up being real, maybe it doesn’t. But right now, there’s no verified positive test, no arrest, and no official statement. Let’s just pump the brakes on declaring anyone “busted.”
