It appears that Camille has reached the point in her career that she and her husband have come to the conclusion that they stand to make more money from lawsuits than she does from competing.
Yet another reason to make fun of the USATF. A few years ago an alternate (Micah Morgan) got to step in and run, and she finished as the 3rd US woman, 8th in the world, helping lead the team to the Gold Medal. Having a full roster gives each runner the buffer and confidence to give everything they possibly can. At a previous 100k world champs, Camille pulled out of the race close to the start and kept all the USA gear they sent her anyway. Last year rather than walk or at least stay and cheer on her team, she left the event entirely when she quit, causing the team to miss the podium.
This lady's ridiculous behavior is only rivaled by her husband Conor.
She should be blackballed from ever representing the USA again. Fool me once, shame on me, fool-... ... ... fool me seventeen times, time to ban you forever.

What Camille is ignoring is the fact she has competed in this event and many other world championships in the past and won, all without any accommodations. In fact she has done so for over a decade. Winning multiple world championships and setting multiple world records. This shows that she does not need any accommodation for her ASD diagnosis, she only wants one. Given her history of success in these events, you can understand all governing bodies skepticism on her new demands.
So Camille isn’t coming and the team is running with 5 women on the roster. The aid station is set up with accommodations for Camille, (despite her earlier post this week: demonstrating the ability to tolerate loud music and strobe lights while enjoying herself dancing). Team USA has a section of the tent partitioned off just for her, leaving considerably less space for the other 14 athletes and crew. Camille was allowed 1:1 crew. 14 runners will be using the same tent and are only allowed 7 people total help/crew at the tent at one time (that would have left 6 for the entire team and Connor just for Camille). That meant each crew would be responsible for 2+ runners. Crew has to trade in and out of the tent every two hours, (which is what I did as crew in 2019). Camille said she said the world record in 2019 and helped the team to team gold which is true with no accommodations. 24 hour history: when I was on the team in 2015, Jenny Hoffman came to run in the open race. Howard Nippert had her set up in the open tent aid station because she was an open runner. He was informed by the IAU at that time that she had to be crewed at the US tent because she was a US citizen. Based on the rules for the IAU, her request for an individual tent away from team USA was never a possibility. The US did everything they could to accommodate her Within the IAU rules. She says is Pro-Team USA. However, she stays away from the team for lodging, she won’t go to any team activities and now she wants an individual team tent. Frankly, I do not think a team event is an appropriate venue for her. She said she could be replaced because she didn’t sign the team agreement. However, she was contacted last evening and knew the team needed to hear from her in order to withdraw her. Knowing that she did not make any comments until it was past the deadline. In addition, she made earlier comments made it seem like she would attend. I am also guessing that she accepted the uniform as opposed to returning it, and she has possibly accepted team funds. As of four time previous USA team member, I hope the USA track and field bans her from coming to future competitions and requires her to return her uniform. There is now a rule that was written solely because of a previously late cancellation to the 2016 100k World Championship which is a whole other story. I am guessing there will be a new rule written that an athlete can be replaced when the team leads are ghosted prior to a competition.

Hopefully this speaks to USATF and race directors...Do not have her on a team or pay her good appearance money after an apparent stunt like this.
Good riddance to her.
I think she may have pulled this stunt because Canadian Running Magazine doesn't have deep enough pockets to replace whoever sponsored her before Wiki gate. Now that yaboyscottjurek account got involved, another lawsuit from Camille must be imminent.

"an athlete that does not declare at least 4 hours before the deadline to declare will be presumed unable to run and replaced by an alternate unless the athlete indicates that they intend to declare in writing and provide proof of their being able to make the declaration by the deadline."
Not that hard. Wonder how much USATF will pay ol Max for that.

She sounds like really bad news and she pulls the ADHD autistic card but I'm sure she knows exactly what she's doing and she just uses that as a pathetic excuse for her selfish, narcissistic behavior. Good riddance. She says she hates noise and cameras and extra sensory stimulation but had the gall to post that bizarre video of her dancing like a teenager to disco music. She's a fake.

Remember the finish of Javelina a few years back? light saber, loud music, burning man vibe at the end? Must have been awful for her.
the event has rules, follow the rules. If you can’t follow the rules don’t do the event! Do something else, start your own race!
If you can’t handle a part of the race, guess you can’t do the race.
Am I crazy here?
Absolutely right and I mean she should be on the same level playing field as all the other competitors some of whom probably have their own challenges. If this woman is capable of running for 24 hours then she should be capable of sharing space with other athletes without requesting special accommodations. She's setting a precedent here which would have grave implications in the future - if we accommodate to her - then other people should be accommodated as well, and in this day and age so many people are on the "autism spectrum" or that is what is "diagnosed." In reality, its complex to diagnose autism and the handicap that a so-called "autistic person" would face in a competitive sports situation. If you look at the sport of chess at the highest level, Grandmaster, there are most likely so many elite chess masters on the exceptional autistic spectrum who do not request special accommodations.
This shows that she does not need any accommodation for her ASD diagnosis, she only wants one. Given her history of success in these events, you can understand all governing bodies skepticism on her new demands.
When you dont get along with the team managers due to them calling you out for your behavior in regards to the overall team at Taipei in 2023 its clear Camille-toe wanted to operate under her own special environment so she didn't have to interact with USA teammates
This must be the thread that has the greatest upvote/downvote ratio in the history of Let’s Run. Thanks, Camille, for uniting all of us.
Yes it's sad that she's facing this kind of disapproval on the internet but it seems that she's gotten away for years with negative behaviours toward others, including teammates, team leaders, USATF leaders and Admin - altering Wiki pages, and playing the autistic card (most of the time not warranted) and the logical end to this would be that she would be called out on this. Her behaviour has reached a point where her presence is detrimental to the health of the USA ultra distance running team. She has to go. This is all tragic because she undoubtedly possesses a talent for ultra distance running.
