Hmm maybe, I felt like it wasn't that easy. As the rest of this World Champs has shown, if you put the favourite under some pressure there are no guarantees.

Only looked harder because a 60 second first lap doesnt take the legs out of those running a 2min-ish 800m.
She was still in control, she wanted to ease up but the athlete on her inside kept pushing it.
When she goes through in 56-58 they wont live with her.
Keely wins heat 1 wire to wire in 1:59.69 (59.22 1st 400). Raisin was in on the rail and got shuffled back to about 5th on the backstretch. Raisin Willis fought hard but but didn’t get top3. Leans for 4th. The good news is she edged 5th by .01. . She looks pretty disappointed. 2:00.24. Not sure if that will get in there as one of the 3 time qualifiers.
2nd heat. Bourgeois of France and Mary Moraa go 1:58 for 1-2 but third is only 2:00.44 so Willis is still the #1 time qualifier but there are 7 heats.

Josette Andrews talks about her training and shares thoughts on her first global outdoor final. I also asked her about the Cole Hocker DQ as her husband was once DQd from a global 1500 .

Congdon runfs the first lap in 3rd on the rail. The first 200 was 27ish but only 60.10 at 400 . 131.71 at 600 and she’s still third on the rail.. She may pull of the whole race in lane 1. Unreal trip. Never left the rail. Ends up 2nd. And the good news for Willis is the winning time of the heat was just 2:01.54.
