Cooper's year has been a success beyond anyone's wildest dreams, and I'm sure this experience will be valuable in the future.
I think this will wind up being a good thing that he didn't advance in the big picture. There's a reasonable chance he runs some great races in the next 2-3 years AND doesn't PR. If he'd achieved almost everything imaginable this year (making the WC final), that changes the framing in '27 of "18-year-old fails to make WC final".
