did moraa decide "i dont feel good, may as well change the race up" and sprint to the front for 100m before jogging it in lmao
When she did it and the commentary was like “What’s she doing?” I thought maybe she was taking the lead to try to slow it down again for as long as possible. If so it sure didn’t work, and now seems more like it was pure desperation. I know she’s not really a 1500 runner but she is not in good form right now.
Got to give Hiltz credit, Hiltz is like the only American women right now competing with East African women/Hull in the mid-D and distance events at these GST

She is fast on her way to getting her invite revoked for next year. My god.
She's been solely 800m-focused for years now right? Couldn't hang in the 1500m but again it's interesting to see what she can do, went for it, didn't work out against the world class 1500m field here, she'll have an advantage in the 800 and then we get the flipside.
Because it's a sprinter thing. It's a 100/200, 200/400 thing. It doesn't fit or work for anything else - it just doesn't. Maybe 30 years ago it worked for 800/1500 runners but these days all the 1500 runners are 3k/5k guys. It doesn't work for the 3000/5000 runners because you are going to get these weird scenarios like Kingston and those guys don't want to hammer themselves twice in three days with nothing really of importance on the line. It's this simple and it's frustrating because the moment this league was conceptualized it was obvious to people that understand the sport.

is 15/3, 3/5, 5/10 not doubling to you?
I wouldn't call the prize money 'nothing of importance'.
Would you rather have wavelight time-trials 100% of the time?
I dunno I don't understand this take at all, especially if you're including yourself in 'people who understand the sport'.
My non-running partner watches these with me and loved the 1500 just now but was bored watching Sydney trounce everyone. Overall enjoying GST though despite not following the sport as closely as I do. I think that says something, even if they still have a lot to improve with the format and the production.
I would say this is a slight step above Kingston so far with the production but still a lot of work to do in the long term.
Also, I love Chavez on the broadcast team, but I wish they had Centro too. Keep those two and Sanya as the three.

We’ll see, she was 8th (last) in the 800 in Kingston in nearly 2:01, and any 1:56 woman should be able to run better than a 4:24 1500 if they’re in any kind of form.
