They're just spewing the Republican talking points that were fed to them without any critical analysis.
The fact of the matter is that he was brought here as a 1 year old and he's spent his whole life after that here. To throw him back to Guatemala would just be cruel and inhumane. I hope the people advocating this are not "Christians".
With that said, birthright citizenship needs to end and we need to stop incentivizing people to cross illegally (or on tourist visa) and have kids here. Trump's way of ending this is pretty improper. I'd prefer an amendment just for the sake of rule of law (rule of law is not something you discard when its inconvenient for you, because guess what, the next party in power can do the same thing then and we'll be on our way to a tinpot dictatorship)
Give a pathway to residency for the DACA kids in exchange for ridding of birthright citizenship.
What did the Americanized Army African runners, the female African runner just made a citizen know that this runner didn’t?
i understand the DACA issue but he, the coaches at NAU, his professional coaches not to mention his own parents I guess, just didn’t make it a priority.
How badly did he want to become an American citizen? What country did he run for again?
You know 150 years ago the whole Western US was part of Mexico, right?
These types of dismissive clap-backs might get you a lot of reddit upvotes, but they are unlikely to win back the support of your average middle class rust belt Obama voter who you will need to win in 2028.
I live in a small town in the south, quite far from Mexico. It was historically in the high 90s white in terms of demographics. Last time I went to Walmart, I was about the only person speaking English. The average American is not a Nazi for feeling uncomfortable about being made a minority in their own country. Further digging in your heels in on this point will just make your already falling numbers worse.
I live in a US city whose population is 50% of Chinese origin. I go to Chinese markets where I am the only person not speaking Chinese. I do not complain nor even have the sense that I'm being made a minority. I also don't use terms such as "our own country". Do you know why? Because it's not my country any more than it is theirs. Just like the Spanish speakers at "your" Walmart, the vast majoity of these people are here LEGALLY. Many have called this country their home for decades and they don't owe you or I sh:t. If you feel uncomfortable having to look at different color skin or to hear a different language, their are plenty of places in this country you can move to. But be forewarned, eventually the whole country will become a melting pot, and stoopd-@$$ Trump is not going to prevent that. So sorry to have to be the one to break the news, but the Great White Rapture is not coming.

Why are you people so stupid? The people you refer to that got citizenship entered the US LEGALLY, whether through asylum, a visa or other diplomatic means, they did not enter illegally. For those that entered illegally, even if they were only 1 year old, options to become a citizen are scarce to nonexistent without leaving the country first and going through the proper channels. DACA made it so they have temporary legal status which prevents their deportation, but their is ZERO path to citizenship for DACA recipients.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND? The biggest problem with you morons is that you form strong opinions on issues you do not understand, which is why the 'liberal elite' you so hate think you are a bunch of uneducated, brainless, morons!
Yeah, that word “ illegal” is a sticky word isn’t it?
Good luck to all DACA recipients and I mean that. Hope you can sneak by and being one of the unwashed those “ liberal elite”, the ones that ran the country so well the previous four years and caused all this attention to be placed on illegal immigration in the first place, I support you but can’t help you should you become involved with ICE.
Illegal Immigration is a LOSING ISSUE for democrats. The vast majority of Americans support mass deportations. When your hometown goes from 90% white to 60% Mexican in 20 years, that is taking it too far and Americans are SICK of it. Deport them all!
Democrats fight harder for illegal aliens than they fought for healthcare for all. They fight harder for illegal aliens than they fight to save abortion.
This is why democrats approval ratings are at RECORD LOWS.
Do you really think you can deport your way back to white majority? I doubt it since birthrates are down. So you better embrace being a minority.
Luis Grijalvala entered the country at 1 year old. It would be immoral to deport him. However, he is an idiot for not obtaining US citizenship, since we allow dual citizenship in the US.
You know that there is no pathway to US citizenship for DACA recipeints, right? His situation is completely different from Cheserek, who entered the country legally. Those in DACA are essentially paying for the illegal actions of their parents. Do we send children to jail for crimes their parents committed?

Your first sentence is a lie. All Luis has to do to keep going on exactly as he has been is to leave the country, then apply for a visa to come back to whatever his training situation is. He can be training in the USA just like when Ingebrigtsen or any other foreigner who does a stint in Flagstaff does. Meanwhile, he applies for a green card like any other foreigner who wants to immigrate to the USA, then once that is obtained (giving him the right to live in the USA permanently) he can apply for citizenship.
There is also the option of marrying a US citizen. I'm not saying he should have to do that but it is in fact a pathway to US citizenship, so again, your first sentence is a lie.

If he left the country and went back to Guatamala he would no longer have DACA status. Therefore, DACA would not be a pathway to citizenship. Also, the US has reciprical passport status with developed countries like Norway. So Jakob and others from Western countries can enter for a period of time without a visa. Just obtaining a visa from certain countries can be a difficult and lengthy process.
And you can't just come into the US on a tourist or work visa and apply for a Green Card. Typically, you need to be sponsored by a spouse of family member, or be part of an immigration program like refugee status. Getting a Green Card can also take years and in the meantime, you would not be able to stay in the US indefinitely.

Your sentence is stupid and incorrect.
If the DACA recipient entered the US lawfully, through inspection or the Visa Waiver Program, then marriage can be a way to get a green card, but becoming a citizen through naturalization will require time and many hurdles including remaining married and living in the same house f or at minimum 3 years.
If the DACA recipient entered the US unlawfully, as Luis did, he would have to leave the country and apply for a green card from outside the US, through consular processing and apply for a visa to return. There is no guarantee he will be able to come back to the US until the green card is granted, if it ever is. The statement that their is no pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients means there is no pathway for citizenship for those that entered illegally, such as Luis, that doesn't involve "self-deporting" back to their country of origin and going through the process with no guarantees of coming back. Even if he got married.
It's a shame it's happening to the DACA kids, but when it happens to MAGAts it's hilarious because they vote for things they don't actually understand and then cry when they finally do. Literally FAFO.
More and more of these every day and they bring me joy!
To all those who are fine with Luis Grivalja being deported because his parents broke the immigration laws (he was 1 year old as he entered the US), do you also advocate to strip Melania Trump from her US citizenship and be deported back to Slovenia as she also broke (as an adult) US immigration law?
There is no point talking with racists and sexists (democrats). They work to make every Last white men in prison and a Second rate citizen that gets service last.

I know liberals like you enjoy pretending that the U.S. has looked like San Francisco since 1776, but that is just not the reality. As late as the 1960s, this was a 90 percent or so white christian country. Same with Australia, New Zealand, and much of Europe.
Some people simply do not want to live in your cosmopolitan paradise, and have every right to vote in a manner that reflects that. That is why right wingers are winning all around the Western World. We do not feel the same cultural enrichment that you do. You need to accept this or you will continue to lose.

And by what means do you propose that he should have gotten citizenship? It’s not something everyone can just apply for. And even if he were now able to apply for a green card as an athlete of extraordinary ability (which it’s not clear that he would since you do have to be truly extraordinary), it’s a process of many many years to obtain citizenship.
