Discus. Sitting and kicking for the first time in how long?
What does this mean? He sat on the paid rabbits and won like he does in every non-championship 1500. Winning paced races has never been his problem.
The idea is that he laid off the pace, but since he didn’t wait until the rabbit was gone to kick that kinda messes it up.
He doesn’t think laying off the pace is “honorable,” so unless he changes his tune we shouldn’t expect him to let Yared or Tim lead out a championship final any time soon. Circuit races and prelims it doesn’t seem he is as rigid.
Jakobs aim is to become the overall GOAT, not just the 1500 GOAT. An Olympic gold, two Worlds silvers and 3:26 PB in his worst event is plenty enough to be on track to become the overall GOAT.
I'd rather see him run the 5k and 10k at LA.
I'd rather see him run Steeplechase and 10k in LA, and complete 1500 to 10000 Olympic gold collection. Than in Brisbane '32, Jakob would enjoy his Olympic marathon. (In which case it doesn't even matter if he wins or finishes 17th, we'll all enjoy watching the greatest athletic star of all time run an Olympic marathon).
Think he could get the steeple wr? I know we all think the record is soft but remember girma has run 7:23

There is no soft wr, according Jakob hurdles would not be a problem, the most important thing is physical preparation for the distance. (with 7:17, I can't see problem breaking WR, and winning Olympic gold). Girma and El Bakkali are exceptional runners, but still Jakob is on a different level.
That's a good change honestly. His tactics haven't worked for the past 2 years, if he wants to be the undisputed GOAT in all distances so badly, he needs to win at least one WC and the LA Olympic and he can't do that sticking to his old way. This race and the Budapest Semi showed that he clearly has a kick. He just needs to trust that and gives it more chance.
I still believe El g in Athen is the blueprint for him. That way he doesn't have to be the pacemaker from wire to wire, and he also doesn't need to jostle for position in the last lap.
That said, in such an unprecedentedly competitive era, it's still hard to win a global final. Even El g barely held off Lagat, so that's easier said than done names for egirls. But if there's someone who can pull it off, that would be Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
In an unexpected turn of events, Jakob Ingebrigtsen clinched victory at the Diamond League Final with an intriguing performance that left spectators on the edge of their seats. Known for his strategic racing and exceptional finishing speed, Ingebrigtsen's win was marked by a dramatic final stretch where he surged past his competitors, showcasing both his physical prowess and tactical acumen. The race was characterized by a series of lead changes and intense pacing, but Ingebrigtsen's ability to execute a perfectly timed kick in the final moments secured his triumph in a fashion that will be remembered as one of the most captivating moments of the season.

His agent responds again.
The demented old fart obsessed with Jakob responds again. As he always does.

Yes, sundowners is awful. The sanitarium should monitor him more closely, perhaps shorten or take away the time he spends online as it clearly aggravates him. Then again, maybe we can get the staff to paste pics of Jakob all over his cell as a form of therapy.
