We merged like 5 threads into 1 and sort of combined the titles. Rojo, who said Rooks had a 1% chance at a medal, started a thread pointin gout the betting odds on Bovada were 33-1 when the race started.
MY god. If that and Quicny Hall in back to back races doesn't make you proud to be an American, you need to have your citizenship stripped.
“Proud to be an American”?! lol. Jeezus what a stupid take. I’m only *ever* proud to be an American when our country does something to make the world a better place, hopefully for nothing in return. How we do in sports has zero impact on how I feel about this country.
He had no idea what to do after the finish line. Couldn't find anyone to celebrate with or an American flag. What a run and an upset by him. Huge balls
Dude launched a full-on nuclear blitzkrieg with 300m and it paid off. Yesterday's 1500 was amazing, but Rook's move might be the coolest moment we'll see this Olympics.

No one cares about how YOU feel about this country.
The steeplechase does make the world a better place. Accept it.
So far after the 10,000, 1500 and Steeple, only 2 African men have finished ahead of the top American. this will be discussed and analyzed for years to come
Amazing race. Was sat right behind Eyestone during the race, and the raw emotion right after was so good. Jumped up on the seats and absolutely loving it. I know he’s probably not the only medalist coach to do so, but was cool to witness!
When Girma fell he hit the back of his head very hard on the track then laid motionless until medical personnel got to him with what may have been a fencing posture. Twitter is reporting he was rushed to the ER. Hope he is doing ok.

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit I forgot there was even an American in the final. I was distracted by my kids for parts of the race, then I looked up and OMG 'MERICA!!!
between valby at the trials and rooks at the games, just loving seeing these brave young underdogs take a shot and win medals.
We can only hope the women distance crew can do 1/2 as well as the men. 1500 still in play and 10k I'm putting my money on Emily Mackay. That's right, not Elle and not the They but Mackay!
I think Hiltz or St. Pierre could pull a Hocker. I bet seeing all of these upsets in the men's races is getting those two fired up. I hope so!
HALF THE FIELD GOT TAKEN OUT ON THAT BARRIER PRETTY MUCH SECURING A MEDAL WOWOWOWOW
Which he caused by blasting like a bat out of hell and gaping the pack! Watched him the entire race, he was cautious and smart and it helped that nobody broke up the group. So cool to see him medal!
