He looked so smooth . Teare should run the 5000 unless someone gets injured. Hocker, nuguse and Kessler are generational talents. All 3 could make olympic final . When did that last happen ?
Not considering the current/literal collegiate record holder in the indoor mile and 2022 US 1500 champ to be on par with folks in that list of "talents" is certainly a choice. Nuguse has separated himself from Coop a bit post-NCAAs, but can say the same for the other 2. Being back with Ben Thomas will help Teare.
Listen up, Hobbs has been dutifully following my RF advice all throughout winter training season, you can go ask him that as the reason for his physical rejuvenation and early season sprightly form. This is an evidence from avoidance and protection from anthropogenic RF and EMF exposure such as his computer, mobile phone, WiFi during rest and recovery and in general throughout the training day, and not due to training. Try asking him that and he will be a little shy to admit that he took my advice but he really did!
It's quite obvious what's the reason for Hobb's stunning season opener in 3:33 versus last year's 4:05 mile right? It ain't training, never was, it ain't mental, never was as well, it ain't more sex, never was as well, it's mitochondrial rejuvenation and the newfound ability to create ATP due to taking my advice to reduce and avoid exposure to anthropogenic RF and EMF, this is the only reason capable of producing a miracle-esque 4:05 to 3:33 improvement in performance!
Good work Hobbs! You don't need to reveal our secrets to ignorant wide-eyed LRC folks, keep our RF secrets to yourself okay?? If anybody ask just tell them it's training so that they will train their butts off forever and discover they couldn't improve as effortlessly as you did with my RF advice! Let them train themselves to depression, let them be dumb and stupid forever while you and I elevate your performance to superstardom!!!
Luv you always Hobbs :)

Of course it’s not universal but it’s very common. Even the original title of this thread using “MF” is one of many examples of him being overhyped. With a title like that, you’d think he’d won a Diamond League race.
World indoors for Hobbs? Solid time trial performance. I want to see his improvement in a race with nuances and strategies.
You rarely see this, but the USA indoors team is an absolute gauntlet as basically the heavy hitters outside of the UW guys are doing it. You may have Nuguse, Hocker, Kessler and Teare all fighting for 2 spots. All seemingly in top shape. Nuguse with a 13:02 in an imperfect 5k race, Teare (XC win) and Hocker just cruised a 1409 pacing assignment for their teammate Wisner and say they are both more confident in their fitness than in past years where they ran 3:50 miles indoors. So I wouldn't say a spot is for granted for anyone. Kessler smooth 3:33 here obviously. Both Hocker and Teare could opt for the 3000, so that's one thing. I guess we'll see what they do after the Millrose 2-mile, but I think they'd be more interested in the 1500.

12 years on from the same venue that Lagat and Lopez displaced Rupp (who refused to do an interview afterwards).
For me the biggest news of this race was JW 3:34. This is his first race back, and has indoors ever been a "thing" for him? Knowing JW's basic training philosphy, does anyone want to bet against him being in a "volume / endurance phase" right now?
Meanwhile, (and I accept that I'll get crucified for this), USA has always been obsessed with indoors - months out from the real show.
Friendly reminder that Hobbs had the 3rd best US 1500m time of the season going into the last Olympic Trials and he finished 19th in the semis.
Friendly reminder that he had just turned 18 and had just scratched his elite running potential (to differentiate from his elite climbing potential) in races a few months earlier.

No doubt. He has since improved to 22nd and not advancing from prelims in 2022 and then 6th in the finals last year.
what people forget is that when Kessler was 18 and ran the 3:34.x, and then Trials, he was already "on the other side" of premium fitness. The Trials were a bonus, not a pointed to thing. I can say that, because I knew that then, somehow in the prelims, he came blowing by on the outside I think to win heat, and even I got fooled as to how easy that looked. But that was it, the tank was kind of empty, a 3:57 Indoors 8:39 two mile easily and the 3:34.xx and 1:47 relay leg on the State triple. I do think what we saw yesterday was a bit different, from the perspective that he looked like a very confident, dominant runner(not saying he is that, just that he looked like that). I hope it continues to go well, obviously, the talent is unmistakable to look at, for those that get it.

I don’t forget people’s reactions to his prelim run at the last trials at all.
If say, Nathan Green from UW (3:36, 3:52y and the same age as Kessler), had just done this - the boards would be equally or more greatly hyped. Sure, it's February but this is a great sign that Hobbs' high talent is continuing to progress.
"MF" is foul and disgusting imagery 100% of the time. I'm not sure why you disagree?
when people use swear words they usually don't mean them literally. he is not inferring mr kessler to be engaging in sexual relationships with mothers.
When people use sh*t (a natural bodily function) they don't mean it literally, as either a noun and a verb, but letsrun bans sh*t anyway. Thanks for playing...
But if you look at the confident body language within the race itself, there is a difference, no all over the pace, no getting boxed. not afraid to move once and to the wire....all signs that he most likely, most likely, a different guy. Just my view.
That's exactly how I saw it. From gun to tape, Kessler looked like he knew he was the man.
I don't understand why people are exaggerating the significance of this one, early season race? Wightman has certainly proved he's still a big dog who had some fun at the dog park this weekend.
