I cannot validate this anymore because I don't recall who the runner is or where they posted it, but I'm 100% sure I saw another elite runner's story or post showing Molly running in the same big run 2 or 3 days after her last Strava activity. Would have been the 6th or 7th of January. This doesn't mean she didn't get surgery, but it means she's at least done one run more than has shown up on her Strava. And, it does make the timing of surgery posted here seem pretty unlikely.

You just reminded me: are you thinking of Phily Bowden? I remember a strava run or video that had Molly in the group.
Just reading the words "surgery four weeks ago " is enough to make me think she's not ready to run trials. I don't know details but a prediction is only a guess and with that bit of knowledge my guess is Molly isn't physically ready to be podium finisher for marathon trials. Here's yo hoping it's nothing major and she takes the time to heal.
Molly is respected for her openness about her mental health battles. She's in no expected to be open to the public about her physical surgeries. For instance if she had a fibroid embolism (hypothetical) surgery it's really not expected of her to disclose to the public.
Molly posted on Instagram that she won’t be running. My heart bleeds for her. I hope she makes the best comeback possible and toes the line soon (and in 2028). God bless you Molly.

Can ANYONE say I was wrong at any time now? I told you so!

Every professional sport has protocols for requiring injury disclosures. Except track where "professionals" often just do not show up to their job and it we are left to assume that they are hurt. I believe if you are a professional runner transparency about injuries to the fans is part of professionalism, a job requirement if you will.
But that is a different debate I suppose....
We are in an individual sport. It's not he same as NBA, NFL, etc. Give it a rest.
You were wrong.

Nothing about surgery?
She just can't stay healthy. It's too bad, I was rooting for her to make the team.
Did she get injured running the track race in Milwaukee?

I just read Kara Goucher’s book, was shocking how often she was injured. coaches of these elite racers should be more focused on keeping them injury free. much better to have a sub-par cycle than get injured and be unable to race two out of every three builds. they cannot improve if they’re injured 10wks out of every year.
