Yes, those are 3 teams to watch, especially because they will be reliant on the development of some freshmen. And while I know this is all the data we have now, I will wait until we have some 3200m times to look at, because those are a far more accurate predictor of XC success, despite athletes running it much less.
For instance, of the top 12 Speed Rated runners in Cal this XC season, they were all in the top 15 of the 3200m of returning times. Two of three that didn't make it from the top 15 (Morgenfeld and Spradling), almost did, and ran well enough to qualify for FootLocker Nationals through the West qualifier, despite dealing with injuries during the season. The 1600m had some overlap, but was not nearly as accurate a predictor. So I hope we see some large participation 3200's soon.
