just stop with this "revolutionary" crap. Things nobody did before? The 70s was full of revolutionary acts spawning new genres. Hard rock, metal, punk, disco
Already explained Aerosmith was way better at hard rock. Metal has outlived it. Whoever compares Led Zepellin to Black Sabbath is clueless.
ed Zeppelin was so revolutionary for its time and still holds up today. I think that is because each member of the band not only gelled so well together, but also brought a completely unique sound to the band.
Aerosmith is not in the same league and would clearly be the opening act if they toured together at their peaks.
Led Zepellin was already disbanded and forgotten at Aerosmith's peak. Robert Plant was well into his embarrassing solo career.
The R and R Hall of Fame had to pass Aerosmith over for a long time because they were still topping the current charts. They refused to retire to the classic rock rotation like Zepellin. Even other epic survivors like the Dead and the Stones weren't coming up with big new hits after 20 years like Aerosmith did.

Check out the Led Zeppelin Celebration Day reunion live show from 2008ish. These guys were in their 60s and “rocking harder” than anyone has in decades.
i agree Zep is #1, but at their peak it’s debatable with VH, AC/DC, The Who, Sabbath, Metallica, GnR. If I had a time machine, I’d probably want to see VH circa Fair Warning to see a hard rock band at its peak.
Okay. NO band can hold a candle to Spinal Tap. These guys rocked so hard, in order to get the volume they needed, there was no amplifier on the market that could do it at the time. They literally had to have a custom made amp that could be cranked up to 11. Also, they hold the all time record for band member deaths of THIRTY-TWO, due presumably to the stresses of the hard-rocking lifestyle. Interestingly, they were all drummers.

Everyone is going to have their own opinion as I will as well. I never seen a band rock harder than Guns N Roses. I find Zeppelin boring actually. AC/DC rocks out better as well. Maybe there is something I don't see but never understood the obsession with Zeppelin. The Who was another band that rocked out better as well.
