Can you explain the non-binary part? Did a biological female who takes steroids "win"? I feel 99% of the time the biological males win so maybe this is "progress"
Yes. Cal Calamia won the non-binary divisio and is a biological female who takes testosterone.
I know the guy from Marathon Investigation has gotten people BQ'd to DQ'd for stuff like this. But why... seriously who cares?
People take assistance from family and friends outside of official aid stations during marathons all the time. It's technically a violation of official rules, but c'mon man. Who cares as long as it's not impacting someone else's race?
Not exactly. In the BQ to DQ story, the runner used the pacer at CIM. I was and still am on their results verification committee. Someone reported the situation to me, and I was obligated to pass it on. By rUSATF rules, they were obligated to DQ.
I do not actively seek out these situations and don’t typically write on these situations. I wrote on the one to hopefully educate and deter..after the runner out up her own blog post.

The New York City Marathon does not disappoint. I started the day in Brooklyn to see the pros race one of the toughest marathons. And then we bounced around ...
Poor judgment on his part and a bad example to the community; as others have said - what would happen if everybody had 2 unregistered pacers join them. I hope it gets addressed.
