Am I understanding this correctly? Israel exists because people from all over the world simply moved to a place that was already inhabited and said "this land is ours now"?
Shocking that this created conflict!
Yes; but we aren’t allowed to criticize Israel in America.
Except YOU do every single day. Hey Alt Left rich white Ivy league Brats
You may want to go back to the years 66 to 135 and read up on the Jewish-Roman Wars.
If we're going to go that far back, why not go all the way back to when Israelites took the land from the miscellaneous tribes that lived in the area?
OP, yes that is basically what happened. America and Britain owed Jewish scientists for WWI/WWII and wanted a foothold in the ME, so they created Israel
Dumbest post of the day. Dude, lay off of the liberal conspiracy sites!

I don't claim to be an expert but it's much more complicated than that. 1.) The "Palestinian region" (there never has been a country Palestine just a region referred as Palestine) was controlled by the Ottoman empire (itself a conquering empire) for centuries which fell during/after WWI. After WWI the Ottoman territory was controlled by the British (determined by the League of Nations).
2.) After the Holocaust and WW2 the United Nations agreed to split the "Palestine region" controlled by the UK into two states/countries. One for the Jews (about 23% of the land) and one for the Arabs (about 77% of the land). This isn't too far off from the populations of both groups at the time. About 31% of population of Palestine was Jewish and 60% Muslim 8% Christian in 1947 before the state of Israel was created.
3.) The Jews declared the independence of the state of Israel on May 14, 1948 and the British withdrew. Immediately 5 Arab countries attacked the new Israel declared state. Their intentions were declared by Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League: "It will be a war of annihilation. It will be a momentous massacre in history that will be talked about like the massacres of the Mongols or the Crusades."
4.) The Israelites were surprisingly very successful in defending their new country. In fact they pushed back the Arabs nations and even gained more land than the original UN partition. The 1949 Armistice Agreement signed between opposing forces resulted in about 37% more land to Israel. The West Bank was occupied by Jordan and the Gaza Strip by Egypt.
5.) In May 1967, Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser announced that the Straits of Tiran would again be closed to Israeli vessels. He subsequently mobilized the Egyptian military into defensive lines along the border with Israel. In response the Israel military preemptively attacked Egypt -- starting the 6 days war . Israel again was victorious and picked up Egypt's Sinai, Gaza Strip and Jordan's West Bank. Later Israel would give back the Sinai to Egypt (1970s) and withdraw from the Gaza Strip almost 20 years ago.
6.) Since the 1948 creation of Israel various Arab and Muslim groups have vowed to wipe Israel and even all Jews in the world off the map. Over the decades various Palestinian groups have engaged in terrorist attacks on Israel civilians as well as military targets. Is it any wonder that Israel has clamped down on the Gaza Strip when they are constantly being attacked? I do believe that they should do as much as possible to avoid civilian casualties and allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza. But make no mistake the aim of Hamas, Iran etc. is not a shared 2 state solution.. it is the annihilation of the Jewish state of Israel--which is precisely what the trendy chant "from the River to the Sea Palestine will be Free" is all about-- wiping out of Israel, not coexisting.
My greatx100 grandparents owned land 3000yrs ago and because I share the same belief system I'm entitled to that land over my present distant relatives who have different beliefs.

We need to embrace our common ancestry and learn to live together in peace.
I am not an historian, but this is my read on history, Critics of Israel have the strongest argument when it comes to their lack of adoption of the Oslo accords.
When the British Mandate for Palestine ended, the UN partition resolution proposed dividing the country between the Jews and Arabs who lived here. That would have created a state of Palestine alongside a small state of Israel, where more than half the land assigned to Israel was empty desert.
The Jews agreed. The Arabs refused, and the surrounding Arab countries launched a war (in which the local Arabs, who did not then identify as Palestinians, joined in, but they didn’t start it.) Israel fought against enormous odds - the US held an arms embargo against them, and one percent of the Jewish population was killed. But they won.
In the course of the war, about 700,000 Arabs were kicked out or fled, and therefore lost their homes. Most of them stayed in refugee camps in adjoining countries, helped by UNWRA. Two years later the UN established a committee to deal with refugees worldwide and help them rebuild their lives, UNHCR. The Arab bloc in the UN refused to absorb UNWRA into UNHCR because they wanted to keep the refugees poor in the camps as leverage to get the land back.
So yes, those 700,000 people lost their homes and have mostly not had any chance to build good lives. There was a window of hope in the 1990’s, when Israel and the Palestinians (who by then definitely had a national identity) signed the Oslo Accords. But the Accords were derailed by opponents on both sides, primarily by a series of murderous terror attacks that led Israelis to elect Netanyahu and to swing to the right. And though there have been negotiations since, it’s basically been downhill from there.

Which part is a conspiracy? Nothing I said is particularly controversial or esoteric
backwards goofy religions. The zio-Chrisitans think Israel needs to rebuild their temple so Jesus can return and when he does if the Jews dont convert they will burn for eternity. The Jews think Jesus is currently boiling in excrement(Talmud) and when their savior returns they will ENSLAVE ALL THE GOYIM. (non-Jews) who they think are closer to Animals than they are Jews. The Muslim worship a goofy MoonRock and worship a Pedo.

The obsession with the creation of Israel is antisemitic. Surrounding muslim countries were also formed at the same time... over a hundred countries throughout the world since ... this happens all through history.
So much focus on one country ... why is that?
A better question to ask is why did the surrounding muslim countries refuse to take in palestinians refugees excacerbating the conflict?

Is it antisemitic for a Jewish person from Israel to be obsessed with the founding of their own country?

most people are fine with Muslims deciding to form their own country of their own volition on land they already occupy

because it created created a complicated and violent geopolitical impasse de novo

because most of them are completely destitute and some of them are also violent extremists
I already addressed this. America is different because we sufficiently addressed the pre-existing populations to ensure there wouldn't be ongoing conflict.
Indignous Americans were "sufficiently addressed" in the 1500s by the diseases the Spanish brought over
My opinion shared by very few:
- What the ancestors of the US did to the Native Americans was nothing short of terrible.
- Now that many generations have passed and the guilty parties and victims are long gone we need to move on.
